Marvel taking a different approach I think because of that very criticism DC is getting.

      Re: Comic Book Fans....

DC needs to let someone take the ball and run with it on some of their books the way Marvel did with Brubaker and Bendis had their vise like grips on the Avengers and Captain America.

It looks like Snyder is the man with the overall direction of Batman and that's a good thing. Actually Batman's had quite a stable stewardship in the last decade plus what with Morrison's long run and now Snyder.

BEndis also had a long badass run in Ultimate Spider-Man as well.

Speaking of Spidey, I'm not as annoyed now with what Slotts doing in ASM, but we really didn't need to have that ONE SCENE in 699.

          Re: Comic Book Fans....

From the collection of books I bought, I have enjoyed so far...

          Blackacre
          Comeback
          Clone
          Indestructible Hulk
          Punisher: Warzone

I thought Captain America was ok and Thunderbolts were ok. I thought the new Captain America just jumped into this story which didn't really make any sense.

Hawkeye was ok...what I don't like about the story so far is how Clint is always referring to himself as an Avenger. We know he is an Avenger, and I don't think it is necessary for him to tell everyone he runs into that he is an Avenger.

Thunderbolts has potential and I think the pacing is good so far, but friggin how old is General Thunderbolt Ross now lol....

I haven't read Uncanny Avengers or Avengers yet...

I also have not started in on Batman. I am collecting some of the back issues, picked up 12 and 13 today. I need to get the TPB of the first volume or just breakdown and buy those trades.

I am really looking forward to "Colder", "Point of Impact", and "Where is Jake Ellis".

So far though the "Indestructible Hulk" has been the best read. The artwork was phenominal and there was plenty of dialouge and intrigue w/ how this Banner.

Does anyone here ready Orchid or Lone Ranger? Have thought about picking some of those up. Lone Ranger's snake of iron issue #4 cover is beautiful.

            Re: Comic Book Fans....

Hawkeye is one of my favorite books right now. I just love the '70s movie vibe I get from some of the stories and the humor in the book. I don't think he keeps saying he's an Avenger. There's a scene on a rooftop where he explicitly DENIES he's an Avenger only to be picked up by SHIELD.

The dynamic between Clint and Kate is really fun and I love the banter between them. There was one little misstep though early on when it seemed like at the end of I think Issue 2 or 3(?) where Kate seems disappointed that Clint rebuffs her charms and refuses to sleep with her. Other than that one little weird scene the book has been going gangbusters.

Thunderbolts has a nice premise and well...They sure took the comic book title literally with having Thunderbolt Ross leading the team LOL! I, too wonder how old he's supposed to be. The way he's depicted I'd guess he's in his early to mid 60s. It'll be interesting how Deadpool will get along with the rest of team.

So I gotta hand it to Marvel, with their reboot they've made me an X-Fan. I daresay once all the X-Books are rebooted i'll be reading most, if not all of the books. DAMN YOU MARVEL! All-New X-Men is great so far and I had a bit of a hoot with the latest issue as Scott went all "woe is me/pity me" when he and Magneto find out their powers have gone all wacko. The only thing that bothered me was

            Spoiler

The next issue looks like it'll be intense.

Having read ASM 699 I'm not as upset about the new status quo for Spidey but man....They could've actually accomplished the status quo change in another way! Either way the new set up looks like it'll be very interesting.

Haven't read the DCs yet but i'll give my thoughts tomorrow evening.

For some reason I thought afterwards that the Emma storyline was a flashback of some sort. Like the new twist on how the phoenix has affected them.

There was an ad for X-Force in All-New X-Men. Initially not really all that thrilled.

I can see that going from one of my favorite books to one of my least. Will give it a chance.

I am looking more to the Cable and X-Force book than the other X-Force book. It should be a good action packed, old school style of book. I am a huge Cable mark though. I will read this X-Force because Bishop is the big bad for at least the beginning and I really want to see how his story continues.

Anyone looking forward to Avengers Arena next week? Basically its Battle Royale/Hunger Games with a bunch of teenage superheroes trapped in Arcade's Murderworld. This is one of my most anticipated books of Marvel Now.

@ SPTO: I like Hawkeye too and I love the artwork style. I thought there was a few times where Hawkeye kept referring to himself as an Avenger? I dunno trivial at best. There's nothing to complain about w/ this book. It is great.

To All: So Amazing Spider-Man #700 is the end of that run? Then what... does Spidey get a Marvel Now! reboot?

It is establishing the new status quo, and then Superior Spider-Man launches.

I didn't even know there was going to be more than one X-Force book before I sawn that cover.

Gail Simone's been informed she's no longer writing Batgirl, effective immediately, with the trendy rumor being they want to rebrand Batgirl (despite being one of the top sellers since the reboot) and she wasn't agreeing with things.

I have a feeling they want to hyper sexualize Batgirl like the most of the DC female characters and she wasn't having that.

...Unless this gives me Cassandra Cain back as Batgirl with a decent writer i may become interested. Just an odd situation all around in regards to that book. I'm sure we won't get the full story

                          NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Damnit, didn't they learn from the abomination that was the first part of the current Catwoman comic? "sigh"

Unless it is bringing back Cassie Cain than this is a huge misstep.

Its been a lot of WTF from other writers about it. DC is remaining silent on the whole thing so far. We'll know who the replacement is when the March solicits come out in a few days

Man... I was so close to getting an awesome deal on ebay. A seller had New 52 complete runs of Batman, Detective Comics, and issues of Nightwing, Batgirl, Catwoman, and others. Altogether it was 51 books. I held the max bid of just $77.00 for 2 days, but w/ about an hour left it jumped to $200.00 and I am now out of it.

I ended up just buying the Batman 0-15 plus annual, all 1st prints, on a buy it now deal because that's really the series I wanted in on anyways.
