    Re: Comic Book Fans....

I've stayed away from Siege because i've avoided most of the Dark Reign/Secret Invasion story that's been running through marvel the past 2 years or so.

Somewhat somewhat worried about this whole new "Heroic Age" that Marvel is headed starting this summer. Just wondering how it would effect Spider-Man (probably not at all due to The Gauntlet running all year) or the X-Men after the Messiah War. I'm assuming like the previous events it'll just cover the Avengers line and everything related. Marvel is re-booting the Avengers in the coming months with the big three back on the roster. (Cap. America, Iron Man and Thor)

BTW try reading Iron Man's monthly beginning with the end of the Secret Invasion story. Its been getting nothing but great press.

Seeing these just reminds me how awful it was when Hasbro outbid ToyBiz for the Marvel license. ToyBiz made some great looking action figures. Hasbro put out a few good ones but ran the franchise into the ground and now only produces those GI-styled ones.

            Re: Comic Book Fans....

Anyone been reading the Marvel Boy mini from Marvel? Pretty neat stuff by using a prestige character AND keeping it within the original time frame when the character was popular. Normally I don't like the fleshing out and "modernizing" the backstory of old characters but it works well here. I especially love the idea that Bob Grayson (Marvel Boy) was a real person in the real world and the comic books were his real life adventures done with creative liscence.

Also I know Chris Claremont isn't as good as he used to be but i've been reading the X-Men Forever title and I have to say it's damn good. It makes me want to check out Claremont's original run with X-Men which is a quite a feat as I have no real keen interest for the characters.

I am most lookin forward to the Second Coming. See if this was worth Cable's time! Or will it bring disaster instead.

What do you guys think of the three headed monster over at DC? DiDio as publisher, Johns handling the multimedia platforms for the DC properties and Jim Lee doing some other crap (I don't know really)

Lee is co-publisher with DiDio actually. Its good, but i don't think it will really change much in the overall storytelling of DC.

I remember seeing some videos of the game "Spiderman: Web of Shadows". In the game, Spiderman lifts cars and throws them at enemies. I don't remember seeing these things in the comics or the older TV shows. Is it me or games go extreme and change the original character?

That's not extreme. Spiderman's official strength in the Marvel Universe was a bench press of ten tons at one point. They have unofficially dialed it back so writers aren't locked in boxes, but his general ability still ranges anywhere from 6-11 tons, depending on context.
