Skimmed Savage Wolverine, doesn't seem bad at all. Been a while since i liked the solo Wolverine books though. Art is great on that book at least.

Love the dialog in Thunderbolts #3.

Haven't gone through the Marvels yet but will give some thoughts later tonight so you'll get something on Savage Wolverine by then if no one steps up to the plate.

          Re: Comic Book Fans....

Well read Savage Wolverine #1 it was......okay. The art is really nice but the story is kinda average IMO. I'm sure it'll get better once Wolvie and Shanna are out of the Savage Land.

All-New X-Men is undeniably my favorite of the Marvel Now books. Bendis has toned down a lot of his dialogue ticks that really bug the hell out of me and is telling a pretty good story. I love the scene of the younger Cyclops at a convenience store LOL!

Indestructable Hulk is humming along nicely too and it looks like the first major arc of that title is about to happen.

New Avengers #2 fleshed things out a bit and while the sci-fi stuff hurts my head it does seem to have some good dynamics. I'm not well versed on the Marvel Illuminati thing though they all possess an infinity gem so I think that's the big to-do about that team right?

Daredevil is doing pretty good but I hope Waid doesn't turn things too weepy now with
          Spoiler

All in all not a bad week at Marvel and i'm stlll getting used to the new Spidey status quo. I didn't mention this about last week's SSM but there's an aspect to it that could get REALLY hokey fast.

Oh well....Will get to my DC reading tomorrow.

            Re: Comic Book Fans....

Okay, it was a rather light week for DC but I just want to say this:

Scott Snyder can do Batman for as long as he wants. That man has totally reinvigorated my love for the character and he's the Joker a facelift (pardon the pun) that should have future writers wanting to keep this iteration going. This is a LOT better than Morrison's run IMO where it totally collapsed on its own weight. The only good things from Morrison run were Damian and The Return of Bruce Wayne. (or as it was colloquially called: Bruce Wayne Time F^&%%&^*er)

Suicide Squad is starting to wear on me but i'm going to give it another arc or two to win me back.

The latest issue of Superboy continued the H'El on earth storyline which looks to be coming to a close soon. It wasn't a great issue on its own as it only pushed the overall story slightly.

              Re: Comic Book Fans....

Bendis' dialogue in X-men is definitely a lot better than the majority of his dialogue during his Avengers run. This is not to disparage dedicated Avengers readers, but X-Fans are quite particular about writers getting the "voices" right for these characters.

I love Snyder's writing style, he's by far my favorite on Batman ever, but I don't love his plots as much. The individual issues of Court of Owls and Death of the Family have be solid, but haven't enjoyed the larger story that much.

There's so many damn X men books out. Arrgh. At least the reversed Wanda's No More Mutants deal and we got some new one coming.

Also looking forward to that all X-Women book starting up soon. So that makes my pull list for X-Men alone up to 4. Though its worked out that's the only Marvel books I get now somehow. Not really a fan of what Slott is doing in Spider-man at the moment so I dropped that for now and I was never an Avengers fan.

I picked up Savage Wolvie, thought it sucked and I didn't even like the artwork. So far the only [Marvel] artwork I like (and I REALLY REALLY like it) is Leinil Yu's penciling in Indestructible Hulk. Yu makes the page look like it was a picture in real-life and not an actual comic book.

I feel that Captain America is too sketchy, but the story has been fun. Thunderbolts' artwork is too bright and glossy. I mean these are villians (venom/Ross) and vigilantes (elektra/punisher/deadpool) and Thunderbolts looks too much like it was drawn after watching winnie the pooh or something <<< attempt at humor.

So far I find the New 52 a much better brand, and the Batman (to include batgirl, nightwing, detective, and B&R) stories and artwork have all been phenominal. In DC I am also really liking Talon, Team 7, Arkham Unhinged, and Suicide Squad.
