Batman, Justice League, Batwoman, Nightwing, Spiderman, Avengers

They are some of the character comics I would be interested in. I have nevere read any of them at all. I would prefer newer ones however older ones would be fine as well.

    Recommendations?
Terra and Beast Boy are in The Ravagers: http://www.comixology.com/The-Ravage...cs-series/7882

Batman #1-11,Nightwing #1-#9 and Red Hood #9 are all part of the same arc so that should make things easy with the new stuff.

I know I've said it 8 times already but I also highly recommend Saga: http://www.comixology.com/Saga/comics-series/7587

      I just read Hush.

I feel like it should have been better, yet I had fun reading it.

I know this was from a couple weeks or so ago but did anyone read the Batman Earth One book by Geoff Johns and Gary Frank? For those who don't know the Earth One series of original graphic novels are stories of the DC heros set in a modern "realistic" setting. They've done Superman (which I thought was very blah though the 2nd book is coming out soon) and of course now with Batman. I thought the Batman book was interesting and the rejigging of characters in a modern setting was kinda neat.

I really liked what Johns did with Harvey Bullock and the Penguin as more than just a crime boss (i'm not spoiling it for those who haven't read it) was just brilliant. It looks like Johns has set up the Riddler to be Batman's nemesis in the 2nd book with the way it ended.

The only thing I didn't really like was it seemed that Alfred may not be British but it isn't said one way or another. At least this book was a lot better than the Superman one.

I've found the Hush story is something you either love and enjoy, or totally hate. Rarely the people i know/talk to fall anywhere in between.

One thing I find about these major Batman stories, is that the buildup is great but the payoff is kind of meh. The Hush ending really seemed shallow to me. I thought the same about the court of owls....it was a soap opera type ending.

About the Court of Owls...(I haven't read the very last ending) is that at the very least it adds a new element and layer to Batman's war against crime in Gotham and adds significant backstory to everything in Gotham. It ALMOST makes the stories of Gotham and the history of the Waynes seem a bit moot but in the end it does give it more texture.

Totally agree with Hush. The buildup was just so damn good, but the ending fell flatter than flat.

And I'm disappointed in hearing that about Court of Owls. I've heard such great things about it.

I liked the Night of Owls ending. It didn't answer all the questions but it was good enough.

Yeah I don't mind his Action Comics work but his Batman work over the last few years has left me cold. It's often confusing, packed to the gills with continuity to the point that you can get lost in it and the stories while interesting, never really had good resolutions to them.

Again, I know not a popular opinion but i'm gonna stick to it. The online comics fandom loves this guy like a god though.

Of course, I am on a huge Batman kick right now. Not a big comic book reader but have gotten back into a little more in the past year. So this week I picked up Batman The Long Halloween, and No Mans Land. I know, I am waaayy behind. But you gotta start somewhere and I hear these are pretty good.
