I have volume 1 of the Archives series. I've seen one of Supe's new omnibus in stores and it seems to be of similar quality. I didn't flip through the pages much, though.

I picked up a couple Punisher books. Volume 1 of the original Ennis run (Marvel Knights) "Welcome Back Frank." This started up print again this past year. Before now they've been hard to find. Hopefully the rest of them will be reprinted too with The Punisher back in the cinematic universe fold. Anyway, this seems like the basis for the Thomas Jane film. The artwork is kind of pulp to me, but considering Big Frank's roots I can understand. Plus, it alleviates some of Frank's grisly actions and "humor."

I also picked up the MAX Collection Volume 1.

Decided to check out Justice League/ Power Rangers. It's honestly not bad. Basically, the Rangers teleport but the teleporters are messed up and they land in the DC universe.

And it's the original Power Rangers, none of that Mystic Knight Ninja bull****.

Dunno if it's a limited series or an ongoing but i urge everyone to check out Oni Press' Angel City. There's been 4 issues so far. Here's a blurb about it:

Introducing ANGEL CITY, a hard-boiled 1930s noir starring Dolores Dare, previous Hollywood hopeful and current enforcer for the Volante mob. When her best friend turns up dead in a dumpster behind the Chinese Theater, Dolores starts her own investigation of the "April Fool's Killer." As she gets closer to the truth, the studios, the corrupt homicide division, and even her own gangland contacts work to cover up the scandal. Has she bitten off more than she can chew?
It's a great retro noir Hollywood tale and one I could see adapted to the screen very easily.

All of the Injustice books are 60 percent off this week. Really tempted to bite on that.

Too bad I'm probably like $70 in books behind even at those prices lol.

Love the series though, they need big single-year hardcovers but they tend to break them up into smaller HCs. Annoying.

              Really had to bump this.

I'm loving pretty much everything Rebirth that I'm reading, but this new Marvel Secret Empire...

I'm also currently on a hiatus but will probably get back into it in the early fall after the big summer event stuff. That doesn't mean I haven't been reading comics. I've been busy reading old Batman related comic books and Teen Titans as well.

I'm spending $30-60/week on my habit. The Button (Batman/Flash) was cool and the Watchmen/DC stuff is coming to a head. The new X-Men books have some potential. Secret Empire is meh but Marvel is about to go into a period of no line-wide events for 18 months as well as return to original numbering (Venom #150 came out this week).

When exactly is Marvel starting that 18 month period of no line wide events? I might have to jump on that. One of the reasons for my hiatus is line wide event fatigue.

I'm up to (cover date) 1971 with the Batman stuff. Amazing art mainly from Neal Adams but most of the stories have been meh except for the Man-Bat stuff. I always thought Man-Bat was a Denny O'Neil creation but turns out a guy named Frank Robbins created him.

After Secret Empire. There will still be smaller family of book-style events buy no more secret wars, civil war, etc for a little while after potentially resetting status quo a bit with some 'legacy' one shots that have new versions of classic characters plucked out of continuity and going on an adventure with the original. Remains to be seen if that will be their mechanism to make and returns permanent.

Rumors the FF might return too.

Thanks I will have to keep my eye out on when Secret Empire ends. As for the FF. I really hope they bring them back. I've said it before and i'll say it again but the cancellation and then whitewashing the FF away from Marvel because of the whole movie rights situation is beyond petty.
