So pretty much I decided to go back to donating plasma to pay for this.

For the superman comics I have enjoyed the superman series more than the action comic but neither really have hit on the previous superman thing. But if I had to guess I would think action will be most likely to go into it.

I'm just reading both because it's all one story, and I think they go back and forth between the two.

Originally, I was just going to get The Flash, Green Arrow, and Aquaman. Then it turned into "Might as well get this, and this, and this, ooh and this, etc." lol. Now I'm following 12 titles, and there's some that haven't started yet that I'll probably end up getting like Deathstroke and Suicide Squad.

Yeah I have no idea which ones I will cut or if I just bite the bullet and just keep adding to the list lol.

Because on top of the suicide squad and Deathstroke there is all star Batman, Supergirl, Superwoman, Harley quinn, and blue beetle all enter the fold in august.

Disappointed that supersons have seemed to disappear from showing up. Was looking forward to that one because the superman comics with Jon. Which reminds be teen Titans is coming to.

Hoping they can make the Lantern titles not suck anymore. Hard to tell until we get a dozen issues in really.

The Lantern books are so mired in their own continuity that it's hard to simplify things though I'm liking the book with Simon Baz and Jessica Cruz teaming up. It has a distinctly '80s buddy cop movie flavor to it.

Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps is also not too bad. It's only on Issue #1 (not counting the Rebirth intro) but it's interesting. The entire Corps went missing and Hal is the only one left (other than the two rookies).

That is really awesome, congrats. I actually am a partner in a comic store down in Virginia. I will most certainly order some extra copies.

So just finished the newest superman (#4) and considering I really had no intentions of continuing the series but got the first few issues to see how it was I have been really impressed with it.

Have enjoyed the story with the family and Jon growing. And it will probably be one that sticks as more find their way in and some will have to be cut.

Welp, I've decided to drop everything Marvel until Civil War II ends. A couple reasons for this are: While the story is serviceable it's way too drawn out and secondly, Marvel has been producing crap lately. Spider-Man is so far outside of its original mandate as to be unreconizable, the X-Books are a mess and lastly, Marvel seems like it's circling down the creativity toilet bowl.

I get why a lot of people are down on Marvel right now, as an X-men fan first and foremost, I really get it. I'm actually loving a lot of their books right now, though.

I know that a lot of people are upset with the legacy identity characters, but I think that those are some of their best books right now, IMO. The Mighty Thor, All-New Wolverine, Totally Awesome Hulk, are all great books right now IMO, even though I wish that the original heroes didn't have to be sidelined to allow these stories to be told.

I'm also liking Daredevil, and even though it's the in thing as an X-Fan to hate all things Inhuman, I also like Uncanny Inhumans.

As far a team X titles go, I'm not really feeling Extraordinary or All-New, but I feel like Uncanny is top notch. Many folks are bothered by the fact the the Uncanny team is more like an X-Force team as far as squad member go, but Cullen Bunn storytelling style is such an authentic X-Men voice.

So as far as Marvel goes, YMMV.

Hate to bump this up to talk up something that's pretty much a project on my end that's been going on since October of 2012 but I long ago at that time got myself basically every bat book published up to that point. (i'm not reading JLA and there are some other ancillary stuff I may not get to) Anywho, I just got to the "new look" Batman from Detective #327 and HOLY CRAP! I got to admit reading the bat books over the last 3-4 years of publication to that point has been a slog of epic proportions but reading The Mystery of the Menacing Mask was like a breath of fresh air. The stories to that point were all very juvenile and mostly gimmicky sci-fi stuff. This story however went back to the basics with a street level crime story with a more mature writing and art style that breathed new life into Batman.

For those who may not know, up that point (May of '64) the Bat-titles were selling poorly relatively to the other DC product at the time to the point that DC was pretty close to cancelling Detective and Batman. The hiring of Julius Schwartz as the Batman group editor was their last last shot at saving the character and boy did it work as Schwartz was given free reign to bring the character down to earth, element the sci-fi elements, throw out silly characters of Batwoman, Bat-Mite and Ace the Bat Hound etc etc. This put the character back on a stable course and it would be a short time later in January of '66 when Batman would become a huge property again (and again taking the character to a more goofy direction) with the Adam West TV series.

Speaking of those older Batman titles it appears DC is recollecting/reprinting the "Archive" series and releasing omnibuses.

Yes, I noticed that. I actually have a couple of the Batman Archive collection books in my possession on a shelf. The production is pretty great with slick glossy paper and everything. Hopefully for those that pick up the omnibi the production quality is at least similar.
