Re: Comic Book Fans....
Anywho, read the Marvel comics of interest to me this week. the new Ultimate Sipder-Man book is chugging along nicely while the first issue of Avenging Spider-Man really harkened back to the '90s to me. All sound and fury but little substance. Oh well, team-up books usually vary wildly in quality.
I'm liking the new Incredible Hulk ongoing as Bruce Banner has gone all Dr. Moreau in an effort to re-merge with the Hulk and Black Panther continues to be gritty and dark but engrossing.
It's too bad the Avenger related books are a cluster&%&$&%.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Comic Book Fans....
Just read the DCs hmmm, I'm really not gravitating to the artistic style on Batwoman and hope it gets a little more "traditional" sooner than later. The story is still pretty damn good though.
Batgirl was excellent! The whole interplay between Babs and Dick was handled very well. Gail Simone packed a lot of emotional elements into it without being overdone. It looks to me like this opens the door to something deeper than a very good friendship between the two and blossoming into real romance.
Batman and Robin was quite good too from the chess match between Damian and Alfred to Alfred secretly tagging Damian when he was heading out of Wayne Manor when he wasn't supposed to. The issue was very consistent all the way through to make for a very entertaining read.
Superboy has really fallen off for me though....
The rest was pretty much standard fare though i'm enjoying the Green Lantern book more than I thought I would.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

I completely forgot about Green Lantern on Friday, but I did manage to finish up Batman and Son, so it evened out.
Batman and Son was great, though the last chapter threw me for a loop.

Agreed! I'm loving Green Lantern right now! Superman, Detective, and Wonder woman are also really interesting to me. Grifter is getting better (still need to read#3). I really wanted to get into some of the B characters but some of the writing and Art (Captain Atom) is terrible. I don't want to be that guy who only buys Justice league titles but these other titles need to step up. Oh I'm also enjoying Voodoo.New York Giants (8 NFL Championships-4 Superbowls )

Re: Comic Book Fans....
Finally read Action Comics #2 -- I waited for the $1 price drop -- and man, that was really good! Not much Action as #1 but it definitely kept the story moving along while introducing more of the Superman mythos. The ending makes me wonder if it's related toSpoilerBrainiac.
Of course, #3 is already out so you guys probably already know what's up with that.
I also read Superman #1. It was okay (I gave it 3/5 on comixology) and I liked how Superman was still quite brash as he is in Action Comics. I'm not feeling the new Daily Planet planet/globe and I hope they work the classic globe somewhere in there. One thing I didn't like was Perez constantly describing everything; it's okay every now and then but come on, I think we can understand certain things by just looking at the art.
I'll probably get Detective Comics and Batman next just to branch out a bit. I'm still on the fence on Justice League and whether I should wait for this initial arc to finish.Comment
