    Re: Comic Book Fans....

The "Joker" graphic novel is excellent. A bit brief and perhaps a little too close to the Dark Knight in terms of looks but otherwise very enjoyable. It resides only behind Moore's "Killing Joke" as the best Joker story.

I very much enjoyed the Hush story. Assuming no one has spoiled anything for you, its a pretty fun mystery and I love Jim Lee's artwork.

I need to start reading up on these Joker novels. I'll check them out today after work or sometime during maybe.

        Re: Comic Book Fans....

Just wanna make a few suggestions on stuff people may not be reading.

        1. The Walking Dead - Yes its a zombie story, but its not the focus of the story its more of a backdrop than anything. Most of the more moving/best issues don't have the zombies in it at all. Actually some of the "living" are actually worse than the zombies themselves.

        2. The Dark Tower mini's - Anyone who's read Stephen Kings dark tower series knows the premise behind it. The art is top notch, and the writers of the comics (names escape me at the moment.) stay true to the books. Note that they are Rolands story when he was younger before the story that occurs in the books (though it is based some on Wizard and Glass)

3.Garth Ennis' recent run on Punisher MAX. Its punisher. Violence. Death. Garth Ennis' warped vision. Basically what the punisher SHOULD be. No superheros. Just grit and grime.

There's some other stuff out there, but thats all for now.

I'm looking forward to checking this out once I finish the books. Halfway through Book 6.

Now the bolded part. I seriously read that as "Say true" a few times before finally realizing what you actually wrote. Too much Dark Tower Series and those darn people from the Calla.

So i'm rather annoyed at the way Batman's "final fate" has been handled. (for more info see Batman 682-683 and Final Crisis 6 as well as the Batman R.I.P. storyline).
Not only that but DC has just done to Batman what Marvel did to Spider-Man. So now for things to be set "right" again its going to be some lame magical resolution that does not fit into Batman mythos as what was done to the Spider-Man marriage situation. Seriously weak on every aspect.

              Re: Comic Book Fans....

I've stopped following the majors. I have a few other titles on my reading list as soon as I've completed Stephen King's Dark Tower Series of books and catch up on the comics.

              1. Wormwood: Gentleman Corpse by Ben Templesmith
              2. Fell by Warren Ellis
              3. The Sandman by Neil Gaiman
              4. Jesus Hates Zombies by Stephen Lindsay (really independent work right here)
              5. Scud: The Disposable Assassin by Rob Schrab

Probably not in that particular order, but I'm reading all of those before I even open another novel. Well, that's the plan.

I also like that the above are either completed or don't update every month. I couldn't follow a comic every month, and I definitely couldn't follow a favorite like Batman and get upset with how he was handled.

It's time to bring this back.

Blackest Night is about to come out, and if you haven't caught up, read Green Lantern: Rebirth and Green Lantern: Sinestro Corps War Vol 1 and Green Lantern: Sinestro Corps War Vol 2

One of the best "trilogies" in recent comic history, and any comic fan would be sorry to miss this. Especially now that the "Black" faction is going to include some BIG names

Man i haven't been keeping up with DC lately besides Batman, and i stopped that after the whole Battle for the Cowl stuff going on. I'm more of a marvel guy anyway.

Bumping because well, Spider-Man is going to have a problem coming in the next year(well he already has one currently dealing with Norman and his Dark Avengers) but things are getting worse.....starting with the 600th issue next month (108 pages??!?!!!?)
My favorite of the 600 variant covers by Alex Ross:

Plus, there might FINALLY be some answers to the whole One More Day debacle (with Mary Jane and the Black Cat showing up), which still angers me to no end...

Can't wait for 600. Only two more to go and those two should be great anyway since we're at the closure of the American Son which I can't wait to see the conclusion to.

Since One More Day the series has been the best it has been in a while. Even though at first I hated the decision, I've really enjoyed the route they have taken. I thought it was a good sacrifice since it cleared the whole mask fiasco.

As far as MJ, you're right, something is coming as we've been teased a couple times now.

Joker graphic novels are great. Here are 2 I would highly recommend:

OMD has had some good stories come out of it (though i still hate HOW its come around). 600 was as awesome as i thought it would be, especially with the interactions between Spidey and the (Real) Avengers and Wolverine. (Pop a Claw. In your ***) and i was right about MJ, and i hope to god it doesn't end up something stupid that Quesada has in his head (though next year's(!) storyline "TheGauntlet" is gonna be badass.)

One last thing though, i don't know where i stand in regards to Doc Ock's new look...one one hand it makes sense, but on the other its ugly.
