It does, why? Because if you were there to see it the first time it came out you can relate to what Jack was doing with the Joker character. He was based off the TV show and some other Joker. Also, if you were a kid or a teen when this movie came out, you would have realize that Jack stole the movie. You think Heath is going to steal the movie from Christian?

I still don't see how that matters, since I've seen the movie, seen the TV shows, seen everything possible.

And yes, I think Heath has a damn good chance to steal the movie. And who the hell was Jack competing with? Michael Keaton? Lmao. Real hard to steal the movie with such an amazing cast around him. He was the best actor in that movie - that's not considered "stealing the movie".

I thought Michael Keaton was excellent for the timing of that movie. I like the story line of Batman Returns more than that of Batman, but Keaton played the role very well IMO.

I think Heath has a very good chance of stealing the movie from Christian. He has already stolen all the pre-release buzz and I understand that most of it is due to the fact that we've already seen what Christian can do, but the amount of buzz Heath/Joker has been getting is ridiculous. If Heath does as good a job as the trailer/prologue indicates, he will easily steal the movie from Bale and ultimately thats what needs to happen, IMO, for the Joker to steal Batman's thunder.

I have always thought Jack did a great job with the Joker. He may not be as maniacal as I think the Joker should be, but he was a great embodiment of the prankster/smooth-killer side of the Joker that has been in American pop-culture mainstream since the Joker was introduced. I personally favor Hamil's Joker in Batman: TAS because he's a much more complete Joker, being able to have fun and be pranking, and then turn into a psycho on a dime. If Heath's Joker continues with the prankster/giddiness that has been displayed in the Joker's viral campaign into the movie, then I will be a happy camper for sure. It appears Heath has nailed down the psychotic killer aspect, and even in Nolan's gritty Bat-world, the Joker does look slick to me (apart from the face anyway), so if Heath brings the prankster to life, I think his performance could surpass both Jack's and Hamil's.

Luke did the best Joker I ever seen. I know it was a cartoon, but he had it down.

I liked him as well despite his painted mustache and Frank Gorshin will always be The Riddler to me.

Anyway, the biggest thing I am personally worried about is if Harvey Dent's transformation into Two-Face is rushed and the Joker's white skin.

Yeah that will be interesting to see how it comes along. Yeah they wanted Cesar to shave his mustache, but he wouldn't do it, he said that was his trademark, so they work around it.

I think Heath Ledger NEEDS to steal this movie from Bale if they want this movie to make more then just the regular old blockbuster money and become something more. Even when you look at the comic adaptation the Joker somewhat outshines Batman so it's only natural for him to be that way on the movie screen as well.

BTW Cesar Romero was great as the Joker. I saw a movie of his when he was a lot younger and in his prime (Cisco Kid and the Lady) and he was so charismatic that he brought the level of the script up to the point where it was highly enjoyable. If only he was still young and in his prime in the mid 60s. He'd have been even better IMO.

Still, Mark Hammil's Joker on the B:TAS show was the best and if he looked more like the character and was younger i'd love to see him do it on screen. Oh well....

True, Cesar was a great actor. I really like Mark's portrayal, he was wicked good. Also, I hope the Joker does steal the movie.

He said he had a day or two of work with the make up on... So I'm guessing at the end of the movie we get Two-Face setting up Batman 3.
