        Re: The Dark Knight Discussion

Well, I had a very long post cooking before my laptop decided to give out upon my conclusion of my post, so for the sake of energy, I'll just say that my impression is much like everybody else's. This is perhaps the greatest movie I have ever seen. It was definitely the greatest sequel to a movie ever, and if there is ever a time where you say "I got my money's worth" for a movie, this should be the first on your list of movies.

        Just WOW!

However, nothing's perfect. I can't blame them for any of their imperfections, but here are the very minor ones:

        - As appropriate as the amount of screen time Heath Ledger got, I just wanted more of him. More, more, more! So, not really a negative with the movie... I just wanted more of him.

        - I'm sorry, but I really tried... and I couldn't see Maggie Gyllenhaal as the same Rachel Dawes that was in the first movie. It's not anybody's fault, including Maggie's. Basically, switch the actresses in their respective movies, and I would feel the same way. I just can't seem to accept seeing a completely different actor/actress playing a character in the same franchise, it just doesn't really work. But Maggie did just fine.

        - I didn't like some of Batman's gadgets or maneuvers this time around. Only a couple of them, though. I understand this is a comic book adaption into a movie, but the way Nolan perceives this franchise and gives it a true sense of realism, there were some gadgets that stuck out that I would have preferred taking a different approach. I loved them, but I just didn't think they fit into this movie for realism's sake.

        - And this final thing has nothing to do with the movie's production itself, but about ten minutes in our sound in the theater started to get really distorted. We were stuck with quiet, distorted sound for fifteen minutes before it got louder and clearer. The entire crowd applauded, but we then soon realized it was still there, just a bit quieter. It's like a guitar amp with an annoying hum. It was like that for the rest of the movie. This was really the only thing that detracted from my experience.

        - I know it was 152 minutes and I know you could feel its length, but when it was over, you just wanted MORE! Three hours would have been beautiful!

Time to watch the trailer over and over and over tonight until I fall asleep. GREAT MOVIE!

          Re: The Dark Knight Discussion

I just got back and it was amazing just like others have already pointed out. I ended up waiting in line for 2 hours, well more like 20 minutes and then 1 hour and 40 minutes spent sitting in my seat waiting for it to start which wasnt too bad since the guys at the front of the line had been there since 5 pm, so 7 hours waiting for the movie to start. I cant really think of anything that I didnt like about this movie, everything seemed to work really well, the story was awesome, Ledger was simply amazing and will now be the bar that has been set for anyone in the future who might take on the role of Joker in anything Batman related. Christopher Nolan is a genius, the way this movie played out, it just left me speachless at the end, and like others have said, wanting more.

Lol I'm doing the same thing. I ordered Batman Begins on Bluray from Amazon earlier this week. After I watch it I'm definitely going to be checking out Dark Knight.

Really...I don't have any complaints at all. The movie was just perfect and I am so glad that I have tickets to see it in IMAX in two hours. Going to be ridiculous in the IMAX.

Ledger was spot-on as the Joker. Everything about the character was amazing. Eckhart nails Two-Face, Oldman once again nails Gordon, Bale continues to be Batman, Maggie is...serviceable, though just as bad.

Almost every time the Joker spoke I was like..."I want to remember this quote." One of the best performances I have ever seen.

I'm going to see the movie at 3:45, what time do you guys think I should get there? I don't think it'll be as busy as tonight or the midnight release, but I still want, at the very least, a decent seat.

For the 3:45 show, I'd say you don't have to get there too early. 3 or 3:15 will probably still get you a seat, but that depends how big your theater is.
