Re: The Dark Knight Discussion **CONTAINS SPOILERS**
I've seen this movie twice.
It's STILL too long and should have ended when Bruce was sitting in his chair and Alfred took the note from him. After that it got LONG LONG LONG.
Maggie was horrible and looked horrible. She's beautiful, but in jeans.
Friends who saw it all said it was too long with one of them actually very bored.
The ending when Batman went all ninja and was using sonar power was just too much for most of us too.
All in all, a good movie. We ALL liked the first one better, hands-down."Well the NBA is in great hands but if I had to pick the single greatest player on the planet, I take Kobe Bryant without hesitation." - Michael Jordan, 2006Comment

Yes, that's my major complaint about the movie. I mean it was feasible but it was waay too gimmicky.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

The sonar stuff was a bit much for the movie I thought as well. I've seen it twice and I thought it was just about the right length to me. As for Two-Face, one reason I'm glad he appears to be dead is that if they want to try and keep this movie more or less as realistic as you can keep a comic book movie, then I don't think there is any way Dent could live with that kind of injury to his face. I'm no doctor, but I'd think he'd die of some type of infection or something.Last edited by aukevin; 07-28-2008, 12:27 PM.

Two-face is dead. They wouldn't have that whole quote about "You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain" if he were to survive. It's pretty freakin obvious he is dead.

I saw it today and really enjoyed it. I thought the lighting and music really helped set the stage overall.
The Joker was phenomenal as well...sad that Heath passed away. Every scene he was in was memorable. I don't know why but he kept reminding me of a young Mel Gibson playing that part.
I'll probably go see it again...first time in a long time I've done that at the theater.
Dent was a hero... he died when 2face was born. That quote doesn't really make it obvious that he's dead considering he did live long enough to see himself become a villain. 2face is a villain.Comment

Interesting... I could see that. Now that you say that, I could actually see Gibson being a pretty damn good Joker.

Re: The Dark Knight Discussion **CONTAINS SPOILERS**
Just a couple observations:
1. I like how they made Two-Face look realistic but not TOO gory. It seems they modeled the face on The Long Halloween. There were a couple girls seated next to me and when Two-Face was revealed for the first time they both gasped and ewwed. So you know the shock factor worked well there.SpoilerI just want to know how his eye was still intact. But since that's faithful to the comic book, I can forgive it. Especially nice touch to put the stains on the pillow too (ewwwww)
One thing that bugged a little was the fact that they threw out all of the production design from the first movie. Gotham City was very stylized in Batman Begins, while in Dark Knight it was simply Chicago. I know they were going for realism, but the looks of the two films just didn't match up for me. Very nitpicky, I know....“In my lifetime, we've gone from Eisenhower to George W. Bush. We've gone from John F. Kennedy to Al Gore. Re: The Dark Knight Discussion **CONTAINS SPOILERS**
The whole point of those scenes was that Dent is dead. For the city to clean up, he had to die a hero. Two-face could be dead or alive, that doesn't matter, it only matters that since he was no longer Dent, he must be dead to the city.Comment

I seen TDK for the second time yesterday and enjoyed it just as much as the first. I thought there was no way Nolan could out do Batman Begins but he did it or at least equaled it. Both Begins and TDK are just top notch movies from start to finish. They are hands down the best comic book movies ever. Lets hope Nolan will do at least one more!Comment
