edit: You guys need to check out the Wiki page here, lots of cool information about filming and other pre-production stuff. This was the first movie to shoot at the Hoover Dam and at the Pentagon since 9/11.

edit #2: Sequels

On May 30, 2007, Dreamworks greenlit two sequels to Transformers and Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox and Peter Cullen signed on to return. Producer Tom DeSanto has envisioned a storyline introducing the Dinobots, the Constructicons, and Soundwave. Writers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman may not return, as "Star Trek... is taking up kind of all of our time." Michael Bay has not signed on, "trying to keep some leverage for the negotiations", but already has ideas, including an aircraft carrier character.

That sounds really cool.

my 2 cents pretty much echo the rest. fun movie, funnier than i was expecting.

only thing that got me was when the robots were fighting, it was hard to tell which was which...

i expected alot, and it delivered!

An aircraft carrier character hmm I would prefer bringing Superion to the big screen. Maybe that could be his name as a tribute to that character.

Glad to see there's no mention of bringing in Unicron that'd be IMPOSSIBLE to do.

I agree. Those parts with the English chick and her nerd squad felt out of place and disrupted the flow of the movie for me. I thought her character was going to amount to something in the end, but after she discovered S7 her scenes were useless.

Yeah like i said earlier, they should have developed the deceptacons a lot more. The only one that spoke was Megatron. We barely heard from Starscream. They were just about business and didn't show off how greedy for power or how Starscream wants to be the leader.

Haven't seen the movie yet but if Screamer is around for the next one I bet that'll be a large subplot. How about this? Starscream creates the Constructicons in order to gain control of the Decepticon leadership

possible minor spoiler alert!

in an interview with the screenwriters, they mentioned that the audience would clearily pickup that starscream was "a judas" to megatron, and their dialogue would allow that, but nothing like that happened.

Because Unicron is so huge that the practicality of a planet sized live action robot is well...incomprehensible to the brain. Now if they could do that effectively then I would change my mind.

Oh BTW if Michael Bay doesn't sign on for the sequels then I wouldn't freak out too much after all, Spielberg is involved. I'd love to see what he could do directing this kind of property.

Yeah the first and I think only Megatron says to Star Scream is "You disappoint me again Star Scream" it seemed like they were having problems and I think that line was meant to say they weren't all buddy buddy.

The only issue I had with the Decepticons was they didn't evolve the Megatron-Starscream relationship. Looking back... I only knew about it from the cartoon. A non-fan wouldn't have picked that up.

Yup, especially since it took so much time just making the "regular" sized transformers.
