Actually that Superboy is dead now. The only Superboy in the comics now is an evil one from Earth-Prime.

I agree with aukevin (I think) about the plane/space shuttle sequence. That was jaw droppingly good. Not only in terms of special F/X but also the way it hooked the viewer into the film. Oh, it looked like the Metropolis team was playing the Yankees there.
Told you man Glad you enjoyed it. I thought it was great and I can't wait to see it again. That plane rescue scene was just awesome.

        1) He establishes his powers fully (it'll take the next 2 films I think) and become Superboy. It could be pretty good or very hokey. Of course WB would have to be willing to pay for the Superboy rights tho.
Well Superboy and Superman are actually one in the same, but legally are a seperate entity, as established by a 1940's court ruling. National (now DC) paid Segel $100,000 for the Superboy rights which reverted back to the Seigel family 2 or 3 years ago and that is why seasons 4 and 5 of TV's "Smallville" are in a legal entanglement. "Superkid" and "Superboy" wouldn't clash legally, unless in the next movie he was referred to as "Superboy".

that plane scene in IMAX 3d is probably the most intense scene i experienced in a movie theater. i really hope that IMAX 3d opens up everywhere and makes action movie like this.

              Re: Superman Returns

This movie had a LOT of hype to live up to with me, but I saw it last night at 6:30, and as SPTO put it: HOLY SH*T!!!

Superman Returns was everything I thought it would be and more. From the opening credits, which sent chills down my spine, to how well pulled off Superman/CK was by Routh, to the various homages to the original Superman, to the amazing action scenes, and on and on and on...

I NEVER thought my expectations for this movie would even be met, let alone exceeded by a MILE. I loved everything about this movie. 2 and a half hours? Didn't feel like it, as most long movies do. I was so wrapped up in the movie that it didn't even enter my mind during the movie how long it really was. The ending topped it all off, with Routh flying off into space ala Christopher Reeve in the original. AWESOME moment, one of MANY.

This movie has immediately catapulted into my top 5 favorite movies of all time, no doubts. I know it may seem soon to say that, but I have truly never enjoyed a movie as I did Superman Returns.

And tomorrow, i'll be seeing it again

Here's an article about what was cut from the movie: http://supermanhomepage.com/movies/m...c=sr-cutscenes

There were a couple scenes in the trailers that I was wondering where they were in the movie, this is where they went. I hope they release an extended version on DVD rather than just deleted scenes because I wanted to see some of that stuff in the movie.

                    Re: Superman Returns

                    Saw it today. Spoilers ahead..

It was good, not great. A little too long for me. There was a point it should have ended and it just kept going.

Routh and Spacey were both great. The story was good. Seemed like Singer wanted to do too much though. I need to see it again on DVD, but I would say it's a tad better than 2 and way behind part 1. I don't even acknowledge that 3 and 4 exist, so for me, this is part 3. In my mind, it definitely followed part 2. Lois has no idea that Clark is Superman based on the spell, but knows she spent a night with Superman, but assumes it was interview only. Once the kid pushed the piano, she knew it was more and the kid was Supe's.

Hmm the only scene i'd want to see is the "return to Krypton" scene.

Wow, I'm really glad you liked it, but I can't endorse a movie that I kept wishing was over after just 30 minutes. My niece saw it Thursday night and wanted to see it again, so not only couldn't I walk out, but I had to pretend that I liked the movie afterward. Super dull, Super Slow, and 2+ hours of my life that I can't get back. The problem? Hard to put my finger on, but the movie took forever to get anywhere. I found myself waiting for something to happen and it quickly became waiting for the movie to end.

Despite the fact that I loved the movie, I do partially agree with you that the movie did take a while to get going. I guess I didn't really notice it after the awesome opening credits sequence, and the fact that I had been waiting for a new Superman movie for so long. I actually enjoyed all of the scenes leading up to the amazing airplane sequence, but yes, they did take a while to go anywhere.

Ok thanks I ask cuz I was having trouble with the sound. I have to switch the settings on my hearing aids at the theatres and sometimes it takes a few minutes to have the sound at peak level for me.
