    Re: Superman Returns

I saw this last night and really enjoyed it. I thought Brandon Routh did a great job. His voice inflections/acting really made me feel he was Superman. I wasn't expecting to like Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane, but she did a fine job. All in all I really enjoyed the movie, and even though it was long I wasn't looking at my watch to see what time it was.

I really enjoyed the film as well and thought everyone did a very good job. Plus it will get better with repeated viewings because you become more comfortable with the people in their roles.

The movie was good but could of been shorter. Spacey played a great luther.

The movie wasn't horrible but I didn't enjoy it. It was weird seeing "Kumar" as a bad guy. Not spoiling, but some aerospace physics were totally unbelieveable as well the mythos surrounding Superman were off. The performances were good but the movie could've been alot better.

i saw it thursday and i really liked it... i'm not a huge fan of the old movies (having only seen them on tv) but i really thought this was a quality movie... i don't know if i'll go see it again but i'll definitely buy it on dvd and maybe even go see it at the $1.50 show.

              Re: Superman Returns

I enjoyed Superman returns. Spacey and Routh did an excellent job in their respective roles. With his good looks and acting skills, Routh has a chance to become a big time movie star. He reminded me of a young Christopher Reeve.

Bosworth did a solid job but I wonder if Rachel McAdams would have played a better Lois Lane.

The best scene in the film involved the plane about to crash on the baseball field.

I thought the movie was about 10 minutes too long. I have no doubt the DVD will be packed with a lot of extras.

One complaint I have is that they showed the credits at the beginning of the film. I hate it when movies have this.

If you stayed in the theatre after the movie you will notice Christopher Reeve and Dana Reeve are both mentioned during the credits.

                    Yep.

Most super hero movies have the credits at the beginning and I wish they would stop doing it.

Would've loved to see McAdams play that role. I'm so in love with her. My wife had been trying to get me to watch The Notebook for the longest and I wasn't interested until I learned that Rachel McAdams had the lead role. It turned out to be an excellent movie.

I think you liked the movie better than I did. I might have disliked this movie more than anybody I know-Maybe it's me, but it seemed like a 5 hour movie-I was squirming in my seat.

Singer was paying tribute to Donner's original Superman introduction. I thought it was very well done and quite respectful.

Well, if I'm not mistaken, Kryptonite weakens and can kill Superman right? For one, if that hunk of "land" consisted of it, then why did he not die or even become weak before he even landed? Our solar system's sun is what makes Kal-el (sp?) who he is-his super powers- which allow him to fly, IMPENETRABLE skin, etc. So, why was Lex able to shank this cat with a piece of Kryptonite but when he was at the hospital they couldn't even stick the needle/IV into his arm (which is what should've happened with the shank)? At the same time, why didn't Superman die from the green shank? Again, the green stuff weakens him but wouldn't just allow his skin to be "soft"... I mean, am I wrong? I think there were other things but I just can't remember them right now...What I mentioned above REALLY bothered me though...

Well we're not sure how FAST kryptonite reacts on Supes. I'd say the affects were portrayed pretty well as I tend to think of it being like a slow acting poison.

Also I believe Lois got most of the shank out of him in the plane and you did see the doctors get the remaining bits out. So it's not like he was stuck with a piece of Kryptonite inside him.

There is no logical explanation of how Superman "flew and threw" "that hunk of land" into outer space. Kryptonite makes him weak as a kitten and yet he exhibited his usual powers even after being exposed to enough Green K to almost kill him.
Yes green Kryptonite can in a sense "soften" Supe's skin. Because it weakens all of Superman's powers it will also affect his invulnerability, thus making it possible to pierce his skin with any sharp object, including a Kryptonite shank.
