    Re: Seinfeld or Friends?

I have tried to give Friends a chance so many times. I kept trying and trying...at some point I gave up, I just couldn't take it.

Seinfeld, though, I can watch again and again...which is actually what I do every evening. And I still laugh a lot, even though many times I know what they're gonna say...

It's all about branding of the humor to the generation. This was a discussion on the local Philly sports talk radio show in the last few weeks. Sunny's brand of humor seems to appeal to the 16-28 yo crowd. But, apparently Sunny wasn't going to make it without Danny DeVito. I'd actually take several other sitcoms over Sunny, but then again, because the branding was different and I am in the older generation. I would take Cheers over Sunny. Cheers was a Thursday nite staple. I've tried Curb, but it just doesn't resonate with me.

Seinfeld. I've seen every episode at least 5 times and I still laugh when I watch it.

Sunny is basically a 21st century Seinfeld. Both are amazing.

I've watched a lot of Seinfeld...it's amusing, but I just never "got" it. It's pretty stupid most of the time imo. Friends on the other hand I enjoyed from start to finish. That said, I believe I would take Frasier over both of them.

Seinfeld all day every day and it's not even close.

Loved both sitcoms and own both of the boxes sets, but NOTHING will ever top Seinfeld.

                      Re: Seinfeld or Friends?

Too many of the characters on Friends just eventually got on my nerves!
Although i loved the constant bra free scenes with Jennifer Aniston.
I am pretty sure it was in her contract she had to do one bra free scene per episode.

But like i said Friends just became really stale to me. I cannot watch any of the reruns at all. Seinfeld on the other hand i can still watch all day.

There are some shows I would put up against Seinfiield. Friends isn't one of them.

Most overrated comedy of all time.

I'd say friends was funny to watch with my wife and my wife would probably say Seinfeld was funny to watch with me.

The poll got me to thinking of some other favorites. One that many rarely mention would be Wings. I really liked that show. My other two would be Cheers and Frasier.
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.

Funny that you say Friends was over rated when it was one of the highest rated shows all time. The audience ratings for Friends were unreal. Ratings are what they are, you cant over rate them.
I see what your saying tho it was over rated as in everyone seemed to think it was really good.

Apart from Seinfeld & Friends my other favorites were The King of Queens, Fresh Prince and Everybody Loves Raymond.

Apart from Mike & Molly, there isn't a single comedy currently on tv that I enjoy.
