Yeah...Cheadle's just awesome in everything he does, so I'm not worried.

I'd prefer Cheadle as Black Panther.

[quote=Blzer;2038821233]I'm glad Howard won't return, he was one of the weak links (casting-wise) in Iron Man. Didn't really like him in any scene.

Cheadle is TOO famous to be a superhero. Never like the mega stars filling these roles. That's why Downey worked especially well, since he fell off the map. I'd like Chiwetal for the Panther. Is the Panther movie confirmed?

I've liked Howard in most of the things he's done but his voice in the first Iron Man was really... soft in the first movie. Was kinda distracting. I love Cheadle and think he'll work great with Downey. From reading the comic back in the day, I always pictured Rhodey as a more "grizzled" character, rough around the edges. Cheadle can do pretty much anything, so will be interesting to see which direction they take the character
HBO's "The Wire" should rank as one of the top 10 shows EVER on tv - period

Yeah Don Cheadle can be whoever he wants to be.

I agree... Howard was more a pretty boy type character in this movie, although it didn't really allow for a lot of attention to be paid to his character.

Apparently, Howard was blindsided by the casting change.

If that's true, and there was really no monetary reason to replace Howard, and if they didn't even really inform him...that is ****in' bushleague.

Wow!! I thought Howard was a good fit for War Machine. Wasn't like he was on the screen like that. In the comic books, was his character more or less watching out for Tony like in the movie? I don't know if this will be as positive as many think. What grizzly rough type of character has Don played? Just curious.......

I love, love, love Don Cheadle and everything he's put out. One of my favorite actors. With that said, I'm not really pleased with this move for several reasons. Firstly, it appears they weren't really fair to Howard; he did at least an adequate job and deserved to be given a chance in the second one. At least negotiate with him with what you think he is worth. Secondly, I hate it when movies change actors for the same character. Hated it when it happened in Batman, hate it in this case. When you're watching the movies back to back, it kinda detracts from the experience to try to train your mind to believe that the character looks different but is the same person he or she is supposed to be playing. Lastly, I have the highest respect for Don Cheadle and his acting ability but I think Terrence Howard was the better fit for the character. Sure, he's got a softer voice than I'd like but his physique and his demeanor was oddly very fitting for the character. As a huge fan of the comics before the movies, I really grew to like the approach that Howard took and was pretty set on him playing him in the sequel.

Funny, I hated Howard initially, but after several re-watches, he kinda grew on me. A little soft-spoken but he really nailed the "big brother looking out for you" vibe critical to whomever plays the part. I still think the dude who played Spawn had the perfect look tho.

Isn't Cheadle kinda slim for Rhodes?
