It is interesting to note though that none of this would have happened had the Athenians not burned down Sardis -- the cause of the Ionian revolt and eventually, the battle at Thermopylae. The Persians were quite good rulers, something the movie doesn't show.

As cool and great 300 is (and I love the movie), I hope people don't take the movie as history and actually take the time to learn about it.

That's true. Xerxe's dad, Darius, is actually considered one of the greatest and most enlightened rulers of all time.

By the way, this is probably way out there, but do you think that there will ever be a DVD box special with Sin City and 300 together? I mean, they're not the same story, don't have the same director... nothing like that. Plus, a sequel for Sin City is approaching. But I think that a lot of people would buy this set if they did that.

Again, that question was probably just way out there.

Not an official boxset, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Circuit City or Best Buy package the two movies together like they have done for other titles.

I just saw this movie tonight. Like someone said earlier, it was underwhelming, though still a decent movie. From some of the responses here, I actually expected more action. Still gonna add to my collection as a Frank Miller fan, but I'll take Sin City over it any day.

Just saw this last night..

It was pretty good, but DEFINITELY nothing special. I was underwhelmed as well.

The visuals were AMAZING, and the music was incredible. I just loved how "Rah-Rah!!" it was.

I just, um, acquired the soundtrack. The music is so great. Reminds me of Conan a lot.
