Evo 3D would be terrible. Its the same as going, 4G to 4S.

Well if he's used to Android, then that may be the way to go. If he wants to switch to iOS then the 4s or waiting for the 5 is the best course of action.

I still have the original Droid but I think I'm going to go with the 4S when it's released. I have a MBP and a 32 GB iPod Touch and I couldn't be happier with them. I love my Droid but I want to give the iPhone a chance.

iOS 5 brings many, many improvements that will make a good amount of people happy.

Wireless syncing itself is incredible. If you're anything like me, you only plug your phone into a power source (not PC/MAC) when you are headed to bed. The phone now syncs AND backups on its own. For my media collection, this is a god send.

No issues either like other systems I've used/tried.

This is huge for me. I buy music from Amazon a couple times a week and import it into iTunes, but I don't always remember to sync my phone up so my new music is on my iPhone.

Plus, it'll be great to always have a very recent backup of your phone in case it gets stolen/lost/damaged. There have been times where I've gone weeks without syncing my phone... not good. Now I don't have to worry about it.

What time will the iPhone 4S go on sale? Wife is wanting to get one, but we have never preordered an iPhone before. Can we preorder at AT&T stores as well? She's been using a 3GS with a horribly cracked screen for 6 months waiting on the new iPhone. I would hate for her to have to wait longer because they sell out.

Pre-orders are tomorrow, but I am not sure if that is just through Apple or if it includes retail stores too that sell the iPhone.

Apple.com is supposed to start taking pre-orders at 3am EST
Verizon Wireless is 7am EST

Depends on what you already have. If you have the 4, it makes sense to hold off until next summer (most likely) when the redesigned 5 is released. If you have a 3G or 3GS, you're probably looking forward to upgrade and I can't blame you.

However, if I had a 3GS, I would try to hold off until the 5 so that I can time my upgrades with redesigns and not the "S" versions.

I haven't been ticked off from Apple for a very long time. This time I am. Siri was one the apps I used.

So...I was grandfathered into the old Unlimited Data through ATT because I had that before they changed their plans.

I'm trying to pre-order a 4S right now on their site and it's telling me I need to change my data plan.

Kinda ticked. I may go into the ATT store to see if they can work around it, otherwise I may end up just switching to Verizon. It was one of the big reasons I've stuck with ATT
