Lol, go to the NBA forums, see how Bill Simmons is constantly getting slurped down.

As for me, gonna miss Dan on ESPN, just as I missed Olberman on ESPN, and Rich Eisen on ESPN. I grew up on ESPN, and these guys have always been great imo.
    PS: You guys are great.

I could TOTALLY see them go with a guy like Stephen A. Smith or Kenny Mayne; guys who ESPN radio listeners already know, and who's personalities would really show during a 3 hour radio program. I would be shocked if they did here what they did when Kornheiser's show ended, and hire someone nobody's ever heard of. They need a name, a big name to fill this spot. One of those two guys fits that bill.

As for Patrick's next stop...the Price is Right thing is a legit possibility. I'm also hearing there's a good chance that he becomes the new permanent morning host on WFAN in New York. Now THAT would be interesting...
My prediction to replace Dan Patrick would be Scott Van Pelt now that you mention they might hire from within. I know I've heard him fill in for Patrick on more than one occasion and I must say he is quite good. Sadly he may be the best guy ESPN has now.

Better then Bob Ley? Granted, he's just the host of an investigative program but everything i've seen from him makes me think "what's he doing covering sports?" He's THAT good.

I love Van Pelt. He is always entertaining when he is on for Dan. Plus, he dropped a "Flight of the Conchords" reference on the other night's SC.
Overall satisfaction also makes the decline!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay he is definitely behind Bob Ley now that you say his name. I am amazed Ley stayed a sports reporter for as long as he did, he should be hosting the Nightly news for a Big 3 network, that is how much I respect him as a journalist.

I remember that too. I miss his theme music for that show, which I always thought was catchy. I'm going to miss DP, especially his segments with Barkley or Wilbon. Scott Van Pelt would be a very good replacement. His Stephen A. Smith impressions always crack me up.

ESPN mostly sucks, Dan Patrick has sucked for years. Who cares?

He probably thinks he'll get paid huge, and who knows maybe somebody will. But in a few years it won't matter.

Keep Dan Patrick away from WFAN. Can someone please step up and challenge ESPN TV? YES and SNY are regional sports networks and far superior to the channel. I'd rather watch sports news and intelligent analysis instead of hearing who's more NOW...Kobayashi or Phil Hellmuth. Let's go to the panel of football guys to settle this great, widespread argument.

Only VH1 finds entertaining personalities to do stuff like this. Seriously, who's opinion would you rather hear about who's more now between Amanda Beard and Peyton Manning, Lazy Eye Scott or Chris Jericho? Give me Y2J any day of the week and twice on every day of the week.

I used to like Patrick on Sportscenter, but I can't stand his radio show, I have no problem with him leaving.

plus the who's now thing is horribly biased anyways. They had kobe bryant win over one of the world's most popular athletes, ronaldinho. It's just a stupid segment meant to waste filler time.

I'm surprised that Steinbrenner hasn't made YES a national network yet. I watched a lot of it in NY when I was there this summer and while I hate the Yankee with the fire of 10 burning suns I have to admit the programming on YES is top notch.

Yeah it is more about who is America's most popular athlete, I am surprised a soccer player even made the list. I saw it a few times and it was nauseating, really ESPN could actually show highlights from games, but no we need Lazy Eye and the video game dude with the hot wife debating about surfers and swimmers. Really, I am surprised they don't have some sort of primate on there who holds up a picture and screams a lot.
