Contradiction? How anyone can say this album is trash is beyond me. Is it the best of the year? No, but not the worst.

No it's not a contradiction I just didn't want to sound too negative at first but since I've listened to it more it's pretty clear, to me at least, that this albums is garbage.

Will Kanye West’s highly anticipated LP, “Graduation”, end up getting pushed back after all?..That’s the question on everyone’s mind after the Chicago MC recently revealed that the album, which is scheduled for release on September 11th, 2007, isn’t finished.
“The thing is, I just never know when to stop.” Kanye tells Contact Music.

“The tracklisting isn’t finalized as I’ve changed my mind again today. I just heard some parts out there that I wasn’t happy with.” He quipped.

Kanye, who was warned by 50 Cent to reschedule his album release date will have to complete the album this week in order to have it in stores by the September.

“I’m always tweaking things here and there but I am being told I have to finish it today. “It was originally meant to be out in two weeks. I would never have finished it by then. The mastering company told me, ‘If it’s not finished by today then your s**t won’t be in the stores’.”

Kind of good news to me in the sense that the album can possibly be better, but bad news in the sense that Curtis might be guaranteed to be around for a while if it doesn't drop the 11th.

Agree somewhat, but songs like Jesus Walks aren't really done by other mainstream rappers. Best thing Kanye has done has been getting Common mainstream.

Anybody else hear that he got a mil adv and was bragging bout how he was going to stay under budget and pocket the other half. Then he went on to spend 2mil and is now wayy over budget. I hear this is why all the hype with him and curtiss,that he's trying to recoup all this money he's spent on the album. Anyone else hear this?

I guess I'm the only one who likes the fact that the beats sound more like beats from The College Dropout... I always liked the fact The College Dropout had a sort of "spiritual" feel to it, and this album feels more like that then Late Registration did IMO.

I never ever buy music... ehhh... there are only a handful of artists I WOULD buy and Kanye even with this album doesn't warrant that to me.

Best album probably in the past 2 years as far as Hip-Hop is concerned.

I can't even think of one that comes close right now.

This is nowhere close to even being the best hip hop album of the year.

As far as I'm concerned, Talib Kweli, Common and Sean Price all had albums that were waayyy better than this.

As far as I'm concerned, Talib Kweli, Common and Sean Price all had albums that were waayyy better than this.

Talib's sound is borderline corny without Hi-Tek.

Sean P.'s albums were not complete albums. And yes I've heard them.

Common's albums were horrible compared to this. The production alone was weak on BE and Finding Forever. It's more than obvious that Kanye gave his throwaway beats to Common. BE was better than Finding Forever. Finding Forever only had about 3 good songs on it.

Graduation has 6 or 7 possible singles. No album even comes close to that.

Stop thinking "underground" and just support good, quality music. Not saying the albums you mentioned weren't good, but give Kanye props for releasing a universally appealing album.

It really doesn't, though. Besides "Can't Tell Me Nothing", "Stronger" & "Good Life" there aren't many singles that can come from this album.

The reason why this album is horrible is because I think Kanye outdid himself. The best beat I heard from him recently didn't even land on this album...it was on Kweli's new album, which is probably the best or second best album of the year (IN the Mood).

Kanye is not a good rapper. Plain and simple. People in Chicago almost know for a fact that he has a ghost-writer, Rhymefest. That's why almost everyone in the Chi dislikes Kanye. How is it that on your 3rd album the lyrics are drastically worse than the lyrics on the first two albums?

On Late Registration, he didn't even produce the hottest song on the album (Touch the Sky)...Just Blaze made it.

He's in over his head. The best track on this album (Stronger), Timbaland made that beat but Kanye will get credit for it. I don't understand. I had high expectations for Ye, and he dropped the ball...which is another reason why this CD is so awful. A great album exceeds its expectations. Common's new album was very good, but IMO, it only met its expectations. Talib KWeli's album exceeded even my expectations, and he's one of my favorite rappers of the universe, and of all times.

Plenty of albums have come out this year that were worlds better than this Kanye trash.

You're reading way too much into things.

How many songs did Rhymefest write? Jesus Walks?

Jesus Walks was part of Kanye's demo so think how many years ago was that.

His lyrics are better on Graduation than they were on his first 2 albums. To prove it, listen to The Lost Tapes Mixtape. His best lyrics were not on his retail albums. They were on his mixtapes.

Listen to The Glory and tell me his lyrics aren't crazy. Good Morning- crazy lyrics.

What does Timbaland doing the drums on Stronger have to do with whether or not the album is good? Does Premier doing cuts make it a lesser album? What about guys doing the synths? Oh, he hired someone to come in and play keyboard.

What's your point?

Best album of the past 2+ years hands down.
