It really doesn't, though. Besides "Can't Tell Me Nothing", "Stronger" & "Good Life" there aren't many singles that can come from this album.
That's laugable simply because "Can't Tell Me Nothing" should not even be a single and it is.

    Can't Tell Me Nothing
    Champion
    Stronger
    Good Life

    The Glory
    Barry Bonds

In NY, 4 of those are getting spins on the radio right now. You'll laugh at Barry Bonds but with Lil Wayne on it = single.

There's not an album where you can say that.

Barry Bonds isn't remotely a single. The song has 0 good or original lines. Lil Wayne isn't exactly known for making hits. He's been on a lot of songs, but aside from Make it Rain, I don't know of any song that he made a hit.

I'm lovin' the album myself...jus may be gettin' a lil sick of it from playin it so damn much...lol. Definate favs are 'The Glory' (LOVE the track and the flow is just TOO sick), 'Everything I Am' (track is SICK), 'Champion' (think it is finely crafted song all around) and I'm lovin Barry Bonds but just the actual beat (just a sick *** track to spit on and murder it). Only song I really hate is 'Drunk and Hot Girls'. I like 'Good Life' also but can see myself hating it when it gets released as the next single.

For the record, I cannot stand Lil Wayne.

            Re: Graduation - Kanye West

Bigeast, I'm not saying that Kanye's album is horrible. If i did, the album has def. grown on me since then. But to say that this is the best album of the last 2 years is freaking crazy. It's a little too broad. This album will def. be appreciate maybe a year from now when people start biting his style, but he tries to do too much on this album. None of the beats are spectacular except for Stronger and Champion. Some are good.

Common's album is so much more cohesive. It has a uniform sound, which is what I want in an album, not just a bunch of songs thrown together. 'Ye said himself that this album is actually incomplete.

And don't get me started on Sean P's album. That album is damn near flawless. Kanye is not even in the same atmosphere as Ruck lyrically. The beats on Jesus Price Superstar are way better than that of Graduation. 9th Wonder and Khrysis killed the album. Kanye's got some nice lyrics, but his metaphors are real 'cute'...nothing crazy.

I'm listening to Rucks album now, his second verse on P-Body is better than anything Kanye said on Graduation.

"You supposed to...lie to the cops, tell the truth in the booth
Instead you tell the truth to the cops and lie in the booth
F*ckin backwards *** rappers get smacked with the gat rapidly
Boom-shack-shack, the gat'll back up your faculty yo,
The left hook will shatter your chin
Similar to Darryl Dawkins when he shattered the rim.
N*ggas get mad at my Timbs, my thousand dollar jeans all year
Boot camp, bitch recognize my team strong.

Kneal down and kiss the ring
I R.Kelly your verse when I piss on your 16,
Raps prime minister Pa, president P
Poppin' my pistol, partially parched, passed the tea."

I like Kanye too, dont get it twisted. This is my dude and I appreciate everything he does. I appreciate this album as much as I can. But to go as far as to say that this is a top notch album is wild. It's not.

To my knowledge, Wayne's top 20 songs have been:

                  Go DJ
                  Soldier
                  You
                  Make it Rain
                  Back that *** up

2 of those had R&B hooks, Go DJ had a simplistic as anything hook, and Wayne obviously wasn't the appeal on the Juve song.

I actually hated Barry Bonds in the beginning, but the more I listen to it, the more I like it. The only song on the album that I really don't like is Drunk and Hot Girls, which is weak in every aspect.

I never said that he was a bad rapper. When he's on, he's pretty damn good. But if you think he was the driving force in making You, Back that, or Soldier top 10 hits, you don't know what going on.

A little too broad for whom exactly?

                          Backpackers?

Underground loyalists who think that any songs played on the radio means the artist has sold out or dumbed down?

                          The I-listen-to-underground-so-I-know-everything-about-all-music-and-what-I-say-is-gospel?

"Too broad" is a good thing because someone like myself can appreciate it and it's not sooo far out there where he's singing hooks or having some lollipop chorus for the Pop crowds to like it too.

An album with Mos Def, Premier, Dwele, etc. truthfully should have no commercial success. And he was able to do so.

He's actually catering more to you guys and you guys **** on him for being too broad?

                          That's sad.

This is actually a part of the reason i stopped listening to alot of underground hip hop.

I prefer to just listen to good music. Underground, mainstream, whatever.
Not think im up on hip hop knowledge and game cause i know who Aesop Rock is.
