Because Ben is controlling Syaid(spelling), He can be controlling Kate as well. And we know the name started with a J. It could be somebody we haven't been introduced to yet or it could be Locke. How sweet for Ben would it be to get Locke off the islane. Ben and John Hate each other and Ben's would love to see Locke off and back in a wheel Chair.

Just because his name started with a J doesn't mean its not Ben. That guy had a ton of passports and probably a bunch of Aliases.

Since someone else talked about the lack of the mention of the Others since S4 started, they've also completely abandoned Desmond's ability to see the future. Hopefully they touch on that again, it'll be dumb if they only thing he could see was Charlie's death.

I thought the same thing, they sounded almost identical.

As for Desomd seeing the future, I'm sure we'll see more of this, especially if the space/time continuum theory is legit (as it would explain his ability to see into the "future" and meet Charlie in the "past" when Charlie was playing the Oasis song "Wonderwall" on the street corner).

When he met Charlie in the past wasn't this the same as every other Losties random encounter with other Losties.

Well I sure hope they do, it would make for a better story if they common link was part of the underlying story. But that whole numbers thing burns me. "Silly viewers, it was all coincidence, the numbers have no real meaning".

Basically if the random encounters and connections and numbers mean nothing. Season 1, basically goes down as 90% filler/fluff.

I think it was different. Didn't Desmond say something along the lines of Charlie being a hero (referring to the future event of Charlie giving his life for the rescue of the losties)? Thus, Desmond was aware he would see Charlie again and what Charlie would do. Its been a while since I saw that espisode, so I may be wrong, but that's how I recall it.

Also, there was another scene we initially thought of as a standard "flashback," but perhaps it was more than meets the eye. Remeber when Des met Jack in the stadium when he was training for the race around the world? He said to Jack: "see you in another life brotha." This infers Des seeing (and maybe knowing he would see) Jack in the alternate dimension - the island.

I guess this kind of fits into the "two of each person theory," like the two rabbits in the "orchid" video. Damn this show makes you think like no other.

I disagree. The way I look at the show is that the story is being told over six different "books" or parts, if you will. The first "book" or season 1 was about them arriving on the island and learning how to survive and ultimately find a way off. Through the course of that they came across Ethan, the hatch, and we learned a lot about the characters through flashbacks. I think it's weird to look at a TV show like this, but really, Season 1 was setting up the story. It's pretty slow, especially for a TV show, but when I step back and realize how attached I am to certain characters and what happens to them, I would say that while I felt Season 1 was a little slow/boring, it was necessary.

I disagree. The way I look at the show is that the story is being told over six different "books" or parts, if you will. I think it's weird to look at a TV show like this, but really, Season 1 was setting up the story. I loved season 1. Didn't think it was slow or boring at all. But if you go back and watch it now, you will realize that if the numbers and chance encounters were just merely coincidence and had no real bearing on the story, then about 70% of season 1 was worthless fluff. Much of what we learned that was relevant could have been told in 1/3 of the time.

Don't get me started on Ethan that guy had super human powers in season 1. The hatch while intriguing and interesting, it was the dangled carrot that led us into season 2. It provided some good background information on the characters, but if you noticed, they focused ALOT on the "chance" encounters and relationships of the Losties. If that proves to lead nowhere it will be disappointing.

Another strange thing about last night's episode (which I read on another board), if you look at the clock in the hotel room scene the page to Elsa was 30 minutes late, just like the payload rocket was 30 minutes late when it finally landed on the island.

Was Elsa's boss simply late or is he on the island?

1. That rocket should have only taken seconds to get there, but it took 31 minutes. So does that mean that 91 days on the island means years on the outside.

This is definitely all about the space time continuum. I also think that alot of things from past seasons are just going to go unanswered. In the end, that will be fine as long as the story they string together is decent.

I think it's "current time" in the outside-Island world, and that the pilot thought Jack was referring to the Red Sox winning the 2007 Series, not 2004.

This would explain "tall Walt" for one. I'm guessing that some or all of the Oceanic 6 will return to the island after months/years in the outside world to find that days/weeks have passed for their fellow Losties. Let's say the 6 leave the island at the end of Season 4, then we follow the exploits of Locke, Sawyer, etc. on the island for 10 episodes or so, and Jack (or whoever reappears) after a few days/weeks, and all of the flashforwards we're seeing now will have already happened...Thoughts?
