Well it was somehow set to the 3 LNB, I set it to the 5 LNB. Now I get 498 but it's just a gray screen.
EDIT
Okay looking around some HD sites, it appears that I may be okay. I've been on the phone with DTV for an hour now, they say I'm good and it's a kink that should work itself out. My box went haywire earlier today, locals (non-hd) weren't coming in at all and other channels said "Channel not purchased".
I may just do a red button reset and go from there.Last edited by MassNole; 09-21-2007, 07:25 PM.Comment

Thanks, bacardi!
Looks like I'm set.
I haven't checked the channel list closely, but if I can get History Channel and Discovery Channel in HD (not DiscoveryHD, but the *real* shows) ... well, I may never leave my den.5WG | Facebook | Twitter | fiftytwoplays

mine says no signal also. havent bothered calling DTV yet as I dont feel like holding on the phone. ill see what happens over the next few days, and if nothing, then ill call. my guide doesnt even show a 498...but others say test channel, and they have various letters and numbers on the bottom of the screen. Tulsa just scored!Comment

Re: 20-40 HD Channels BY Sept 16th (DTV)
EDIT- Tried checking the cables themselves and they werent loose at all, they had me reset the dish/satellite and that didnt seem to work either. They are coming out Monday morning but Im anxious to find out why its not working correctly and considering there wasnt any harsh weather last night I cant really understand why it happened.Last edited by The Chef; 09-22-2007, 06:31 PM.Comment

Re: 20-40 HD Channels BY Sept 16th (DTV)
go to directv.com and try resending your programming to your receivers, there is some thoughts that the reason the channels are on now is that they screwed something up in the billing system and people lost their HD channels, some local and some nationalComment

Re: 20-40 HD Channels BY Sept 16th (DTV)
The tech that fixed mine said they have no tool to check settings on the 103B, they can only use the test channel and receiver instead of the tool they use for the other sats. Mine was slightly off and caused me to not get the signal. Most installers just set everything up for the other channels to work (as they had no test channel to go by until yesterday), but they are other issues causing probs as well like the b band converters and the programming, so it is a combination of things.
Latest rumor, Wed. morning for the new roll-out
I would not bet on it though.............Comment

Maybe Im completely blind but I dont see how to do that on the website. If you could tell me where to find this I would be grateful. Sorry for so many questions, Ive never had Directv and am not that familiar with how things work with them.Comment
