thankfully the mpeg4 quality is making these upconverted feeds look very nice, but alot of the channels i want i am still waiting for ( USA, sci-fi, cartoon network).

      hopefully, I have the h20.

If you have the HD package it should automatically go to the HD channel first. This is the way they should make it.

it does for the dvr models. for the non-dvr it also does this for network tv channels(fox, abc, etc). it currently doesnt for the new channels though.

              Is anyone else having problems?

Around 6:00 am this morning all of my original HD package channels (local channels, ESPN, HDNet, etc.) except ESPN2 suddenly stopped working. I see the new channels listed in the guide but I can't get them either. The test channels work fine, and I get the congrats message on ch. 498 as well.

              Suggestions?

if you havent already, try resetting the receiver.

I'm at work right now, I'll give it a shot when I get home. Do you mean the red button reset (which I believe wipes out all my programs on the hard drive) or just shutting off the power and restarting?

Red button reset does not format the hard drive, all your programs will still be there.

Are you certain? I had to do one back in Feb., and I lost everything (incl. the AFC Championship game and the Super Bowl ).

You could well be correct, back when I had to do the reset the HR20 was an unbelievably buggy piece of ****. Since then there have been a number of software upgrades that have made it far more reliable.

the reed button just resets since the h20 also has that red button

So, if I have a 3 band up on my roof, I need to upgrade to the 5 band to get these channels?

I also have to replace my HD DVR?

Is there a way to hide or delete the SD versions of those channels, so we only have the HD versions listed?
