Direct TV is coming Monday afternoon to hook everything up for us. We're getting HBO, Starz, and Cinemax free for a year, and this seasons NFL Sunday Ticket for free. I think thats a pretty good deal.

Re: 20-40 HD Channels BY Sept 16th (DTV)
I have a slight problem and I was hoping someone here could give me a hand. My father has Comcast hooked up through co-ax and Direct TV hooked up through s-video. Comcast appears fine, but when accessing Direct TV there are lines running from bottom to top on the tv, they are really noticeable when watching something that has a darker background or darker programming in general. Direct TV tech came out, its not the dish, its not the lines from Direct TV, its not a ground issue, but when we disconnected both from the wall plate and only screwed in Comcast the lines came back on screen, when screwing Direct TV in without Comcast being screwed in the lines are gone. It appears to me that its something to do with Comcast, Ive been trying everything I can think of and nothing works.
If anyone has any clue why those lines are there and how to get them to go away that would be great. I have Comcast coming out tomorrow but I have little hope that they will do much since they are already trying to pass the blame off on Direct TV and they, being Comcast, havent even come out and looked at anything. Thanks in advance for anyone who can provide any advice.Comment

my guess is you are getting interference with the coax cables at the wall plate. If you can do this for experiment, don't use the wall plate at all, they can cause interference if you have more than one cable. Run the cables from the wall straight to the cable box and sat receiver. They should do the trick. My Fan Page http://theusualgamer.net/MyFanPage_Heelfan71.aspx

For those with the MPEG4 dish and boxes, the D10 sat (103b) is now broadcasting a signal. It was on this afternoon but it is going on and off, you can check your signal and make sure that you have a signal in the 90s and are ready to go.Comment

It hasn't been activated for us to "see" since. The signal is still there, but D* is doing something to the boxes so they don't show a signal. The date they will be turned on is today through the 19th. There is an emmy party hosted by D* on the 16th, so the 17th is looking likely.Comment

HR 10 -250 HD DVR owners will get a 99 dollar upgrade to the new MPEG 4 receiver and 5 LNB dish.
