Come on Pared. The 5G worked with 3rd pty accesories. The 5.5 G worked w/ third party accessories. Why would i assume that the Ipod Classic wouldnt? There are a few threads at the Ipod sites where people are pissed about Apple locking the 3rd party accessories out. Also who would think that Apple would do this? Its not like Apple was advertsing this fact that they were forcing you to by there new cables.

I'm going to buy a used universal dock off ebay. I may already have one with my macbook but im not sure. I have my old one on Ebay so I cant just keep that. I'm not giving Jobs any more of my money for a while.

These are things I think you should always find out before jumping in. You know why I didn't buy the new Classic? Because you can't views your album art in full screen. That's something I made sure they didn't change because it is important to me. In case you don't know what I'm referring to, if you click the center button while playing a song, it uses to go Seek->Album art->Lyrics->Song Rating. It doesn't show Album art now.

You can pull your old one off of eBay. Want me to show you how? You won't get "penalized" for it. Just gotta do it before the auction is less than 24 hours to close.

One thing though the classic does show Album Art just not full screen. The album art on the first screen is just as big as the album art on full screen imo. I think thats why I dont mind that they no longer have the full screen option.

Yeah, but I really liked the full screen thing for some reason... it's such a minor thing, if they had included it I would've picked one up with the Touch...

Don't feel to upset.....Sony has done the same thing with the new slim PSP. You have to buy a $40-$50 cable to get the TV out.....these companies are trying to run people dry with these accessories.

The new 8 GB Nano at @219 is pretty tempting. I want to see a picture comparing the size of the new Nano to the older version.

It didn't work because they redirected me to the main website. They fixed it now. I have no idea why it kept bouncing me off of the non-flash stuff.
