      Re: Juno

I saw it months ago, and thought it was pretty solid.

It was funny, but like all comedies, it goes to serious mode and the movie bores me.

I thought the acting though is incredibly overrated. Juno was a sarcastic teenager playing a sarcastic teenager. That's like saying that Brad Pitt or George Clooney were great in Ocean's 11 because they did a great job portraying good looking rich people.

I thought the acting was great, because of the supporting cast not because of Juno. The parents were amazing, I thought.

yeah, when I find that a movie has good/great acting, it's because of the supporting cast.

Actors like J.K. Simmons in Juno, or one of my personal faves Paul Giamatti can make or break a movie in my mind.

I am sorry for going back to this but I had said in January that movies like Juno glorify pregnency I just wanted to show that it is possible to influence.

            The ‘Juno’ effect
And Callahan said that when a celebrity gets pregnant, or a movie like “Juno” portrays teen pregnancy, it has an influence on teens.

17 teenage girls all pregnent, probably not from seeing Juno but its possible.

I agree that that's where they get the idea, and the problem with the movie is that everyone seems very hunky-dory about having a kid, so in these teenaged girls' minds they think it'll be easy and fun...

but there is no way that the creators of this movie should get any bad attention from this... the teaching starts in the home... with the parents... which all of these "pact" teenaged girls have.

If a girl wants to say that they were influenced to get pregnant by Juno, a movie where the girl gives the baby up for adoption, then they either didn't watch the movie or are making excuses for why they got themselves pregnant. People need to stop blaming movies/videogames/music for the world's problems.
