    Ok...

I had like 7 movies in front of it, only ones I remember were Jumper, Batman and 2000 BC.

        Sorry.

Now I need to find the book and read it, because after watching Omega Man last month, I Am Legend tonight, and hoping to see Last Man on Earth sometime this week...............I don't know what to make of the movie adaptations anymore.

Let's see, I liked I Am Legend until the end + I couldn't stand the CGI used for these creatures/vampires/the infected. I felt like I was watching the zombies from 28 Days Later on dope w/CGI. Will Smith played his role rather well. I thought that everything was well done except for those two issues that I had.

The book just seems so different from all these movie adaptations.

But what terrifies off of wiki and just makes me shake my head:

The original screenwriter of I Am Legend, Mark Protosevich, pitched the idea of a sequel to Warner Bros., though a deal has not been finalized.

I thought Will's performance was phenomenal, and the scene in the dark was incredibly intense. I was actually okay with the ending. Great movie.

I did like the little things they put in too. Like the sports ticker at the bottom saying Shhaq announced his retirement for after 2010. The Knicks in a winning streak. The war in Iraq still going on. Oh, and the Batman/Superman Movie poster in Times Square.

Trailers were great for me too. Dark Knight, Iron Man, Prince Caspian - all look good.

Absolutely incredible movie! Saw it on Friday and honestly can't stop thinking about how good it was. I might just have to go back and see it again.... I hope that DVD get's here soon!

                  Long story short....

Very good movie. Good acting, story, etc.

                  HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE CGI ZOMBIES

That was some of the fakest, worst CGI I've seen in a major release in a long time.

Every scene with them looked cartoony and took me completely out of the experience.

People in makeup would have made this movie a Solid 3 1/2 to 4 stars.

I really don't get the complaints about the CGI, it wasn't anywhere near as bad as people made it out to be. With that being said, they should've done the zombies how the vampires were in Blade 2, have real people and then CGI if something over the top happens. Those things were fast as hell though.

                        Re: I Am Legend

I saw the movie... thought it was ok, definitely overhyped. A lot of small things didn't make sense to me, but the plot was really straightforward and dumbed down.

Then I read a short synopsis of the book... wow! That would have made a way better movie.

Instead of being this kick-*** vampire killer (who becomes a legend amongst the vampires as a day-walking hunter, hence the title) he spends the majority of his experiences with the vampires trying to run away from them. I understand that they're dangerous, and if I were him I would avoid them too, but this is a total deviation from the book. I would have even been able to accept the change in the story except for his completely predictable demise as a martyr and the unexplainable phenomenon which is the walled community in Vermont. The ending just seemed so typical for a post-apocalyptic-zombies-have-killed-everyone movie (we found a cure! there are actually lots of people who aren't infected! the few of us will repopulate the Earth and save humanity!), which I was hoping this wasn't going to be. If they had stuck to the original concept they would have been able to examine so many more ideas- religious, existential, fatalistic, naturalistic. It could have even been an analysis on what qualifies a 'legend' in our society and our instinctual habit to create mythology. Instead of a commentary on the human condition, it becomes a conventional Hollywood action flick with little depth.
Basically, in the book, Will Smith is the last human on earth, and slaughters the vampire/zombies in their sleep. In the book these vampires are socialized and can speak, and have a huge fear of Neville (Smith). He is so feared that he eventually becomes to these vampires what a vampire is to humans. He is a legend, a one-of-a-kind monster that wreaks havoc on a society, the society that the vampire/zombies have formed.

I thought the new Batman trailer looked really, really, REALLY killer!! Can't wait!! I was somewhat worried about Heath Ledger as The Joker but it looks like he is going to be a fantastic Joker in an insane, very creepy way (as the Joker should be) as opposed to a cartoony and campy way (as past movies and cartoons are).

I agree about those CGI "infected", since I don't know what the hell to even call them even though the girl in the movie called them, if I can remember "Demon or Devil walkers". I really enjoyed the movie, but this was the one part that I wasn't too happy with. Like I mentioned earlier, these "infected" were like the 28 Days Later zombies on dope/crack.

That is why I still like Omega Man a tad bit better than I Am Legend. Omega made all of this more realistic feeling to it. Now again, if the darn "infected" weren't CGI as I complained about above, it would have helped a lot imo. I really liked how they did talk in Omega Man, it really made them feel like a new society was created. Not to say that the "infected" in I Am Legend didn't build a society + they were getting smarter as the time went on.
