Well I watched the movie tonight and pretty much enjoyed it. Some stuff didn't make sense but overall a pretty good movie.

The movie wasn't scary like horror wise but sure as hell was if you stop and put yourself in his spot.

Even in his own house I would be scared as hell sleeping at night with those bastards running around. I would probably be sleeping in bed strapped like Rambo.

Going into that dark building after that dog, that doesn't take balls... that takes grapefruits. Seeing it was my best friend in there I would go but probably be scared ****less. Will did a good part playing that scared emotion of his character in that part. Also it was messed up when he saw them all in the dark in a group just standing there. Messed up.

The Fred thing probably would have freaked me out as well. Would I approach it. Sure as hell not.

Anyone wonder why the dark walker captured was a girl? Maybe the leader dark walker was related to her/had feelings? Far fetched but you never know. Maybe why he was so persistent in getting him.

Also instead of having a bunch of zombies run around RE style, they should have had symbiotes.

I can't say I'm 100% right, just I know walking out of the theater, talking to my 4 other friends about it, not a single one of them remember them showing a day night sequence.

This is what I remember, Smith goes to video store, says hi to Fred, gets movie. Smith then caputres female Dark Seeker, experiments on her, then heads back out and that's when he sees Fred again.

Now, my one buddy believes Smith himself set that trap with Fred. Smith obviously raided a department store for manaquins, so there's going to be tons of them that look the same. Based on the fact that the Dark Seekers attacked a manaquin believing it was Smith later on, my buddy believes it's an old trap Smith set up. Remember, he's been there 3 years, and was obvioulsy starting to go insane.

That's a very plausable explaniation as well, actually, it's more plausable than the DS moved Fred at all. Not like Sam can tell Smith "dummy, you set that trap" LOL

Interesting what your friend said. Makes good sense also although wouldn't they make a reference that the real Fred was still at the video store the next day he went.

The reason why they were after Robert Neville/Will (as told in the book and the movies) is that he was the enemy to them or if I would say the alien. He was hunting them for testing purposes as we see in the movie through the pictures and the female.

I was thinking the same thing, how could you sleep at night knowing that those things are running around making all that noise. I probably would have reinforced the lab a bit more and just slept down there instead.

I would have left Fred alone and said screw it.............With the dog, I probably would have tried a different plan instead of going in there knowing that we both could be dead. What that plan is, I have no clue............maybe go grab a STEAK for Sam.

I figured he did that out of fear... same reason people kept covering up their eyes in the movie but kept peaking to see. Kind of what he was doing.

Another reason I assume was he didn't want to keep too much light in one area to attract attention.

But I agree that was fantastic Pared. Probably my favorite scene in the movie. Really well done.

I would have shot Fred like he did and then got back in the truck. At that point you know some kind of trap has been set, but.........at that point in the movie, he was starting to lose it and emotions took over.

I know jmood posted that quote, but I still didn't care for the "demon walkers" being used as CGI. If it was real people, I think that would have made the movie that more lifelike imo. For some people it fit fine, for others it sucked that they did that. They were creepy.........but I found the use of actual people in Omega Man far more intense than these CGI monsters. Just look at Romero's movies or even 28 Days/Weeks.......using real people as zombies is terrifying in some scenes. I think they could have achieved the same thing here, they made these things like they were something out of a Resident Evil movie - THE LICKER anyone?

My first thought when we saw Fred there, I thought it was one of the walkers and the hoodie was shielding him from the light. It seemed at one point he knew it was a trap as he just started shooting into the towers as if he knew someone was watching him. That or it was frustration.

What did you think about the girl coming to rescue him? I thought it was a little random and weird that his HID lights didn't work as they took it down but she managed to hold it down.

I thought the same exact thing!! I think it was the movement at first... I thought they adapted and put on clothes to protect themselves from the sun!

Her rescuing him was probably the only "unrealistic" thing I felt was in the movie....

I know man I thought the same thing. First thing I thought is Will Smith is screwed now since they can come out in the day and are adapting. Another thing I thought that maybe this one was a "special" one and was trying to make contact. That and also it was a trap. But we all got fooled as it was nothing like that.

It also would have been freaky if it was a trap and Fred was facing away from him and Will approached it and all a sudden the thing just jumped at him.

The car thing was forced. Seemed like they couldn't find a good idea to get him safety out of there.

Another question is what the hell is a woman and a small kid driving around in the middle of the night anyway. Lights or no lights. I know she said she was looking for him but you would think once night came they would get shelter

I have a female German Shepherd named Shadow who is almost 3 and there is no way I will watch that movie ever again. That one scene crushed me. Sad to say my love for dogs is so great it almost wrecked the movie for me.

I'm planning to get one but my dad told me that scene crushed him as well. When he was young he had a German Shepherd and it was a girl as well. He told me how that dog saved his life a couple times like when he was in the forest and a wild boar showed up. I could imagine how heart wrenching that scene could have been.

I know. I was just saying it would be smart to wait and once it gets dusk start seeking shelter in some house and come back tomorrow instead of roaming the night streets. I just found it odd that a woman armed with a pistol and a small kid came to his rescue.

That kid was pointless in the movie. LOL He didn't have one line and just squealed at the end and got the walkers attention.

LOL! I thought the same thing when we first saw Fred move and I was like holy ****, that the "walkers" looked since far away it didn't look like Fred. I thought it was one of them with a hoodie on. If they were smart, that is what the "walkers" should have looked like.
