Ok this MP3Tag program is pissing the living **** out of me. Is there a way to prevent the damn thing from launching the song I'm editing into the media player each time?

I'm having some issues with the player as a whole, lol. There are aspects about it that I LOVE (the navigation system and layout, the flipping to widesceen for movie viewing, the screen size as a whole, etc.

However, I have some problems/questions that would make the player more enjoyable.

- I hate that when playing a song, most the screen is album art, because the pictures, while fine small, look very bad when blown up. Is there a place where I can find high resolution album art, that looks good blown up?

- I have A LOT of TV show seasons, and I haven't figured out if there is a way to categorize my videos in separate folders like they do automatically with pictures. On my creative I'd have a folder like "Scrubs" click on it and you'd have several folders "Season 1", "Season 2", etc. Click on one and then you'd have the files, "101. My First day", "102. My Something or Other". It was very organized. Is there anyway to do that on the Zune?

- I'm finally getting this tagging thing down (extended tags are the key!), and I'm seeing where my player is messing some things up, so that looks like an easy fix. I'm just taking out things like "composer" and "band" and leaving the barebones things like Title, Artist, Album, Genre, and Year. Hopefully, I'm not erasing something that I'm going to need later.

- Other than that, I miss having a voice recorder, EQ, the ability to fast jump through my albums by letter, and the fact that my creative was louder. Don't get me wrong, I like the Zune, and I really want to ride this player out, but if in a week I decide that it's just not for me, I might return it and get the 60 GB creative (thing is, that is 20 gigs less for 50 dollars more!).

I bet some of the other guys will be able to help you out on some of that stuff, man. I know there is www.albumart.com which gives you a search box for albums. I don't know how HQ they are, though.

I just went through and used MediaMonkey to tag EVERYTHING. I hope it works well when I put it into the software and the player. Took about 4 hours total!

I feel some of your pains. I wish there was an EQ also and I hope that with a FW update they can fix that, you can tell that this thing lacks the EQ.

My album art is fine, anything that looked blown up I went back and fixed it with larger size album art.

I do miss the battery life of the classic though, when compared to the Zune 80 is much nicer. I guess there are problems with all mp3 players and its a pick your poison type of deal with these.

To be honest, I think you should go back to the Creative. It seems like many of the things you loved on the Creative arent on the Zune 80 yet.

-For album art, I get all of my art from Amazon, Album Art or Wikipedia. I have over 5000 songs alll with art and only a few look blurry on the Zune. I personally love the full screen art and prefer it to how the Ipod shows art.

- Video organization is the absolute worst feature in this version of the Zune software and firmware. There is no way to seperate TV Shows, Movies and Music Videos from what I see. I had to rename all my videos show that the show title went before the episode title. For example all off my Scrubs episodes look like this "Scrubs - My First Day." The Zune team is going to add this feature and auto playlists in the next version of the software but who knows when they will release it.

I love my 80 but if there was a better 80 GB player I would get it. If you only need 60 GB and if you are used to a Zen. I would consider going back,

I agree with your points aholbert.

Amazon is the best place to get the album art from, I only have a few album covers that I need to fix.

I hope they add an EQ if possible.

You have to conver them to either mp4s or wmvs. You can use the Videora Ipod converter to convert the videos into mp4s.

SUPER encoder by erightsoft.

They have a zune option in the conversion drop down.

Which of these is better? I downloaded and am using Videora, but it is extremely slow at converting. Is the SUPER encoder or any other converter faster?

By the way, the mp3tag software is amazing! I am really starting to enjoy this player alot more now that I have had some time to play with it. The simplicity of it is kind of nice.

Just tried watching videos from my zune on the 360 and it looks great. MS is being savvy by only allowing this feature to work with a zune and not an ipod. This is another reason I bought an 80.

Its great because I dont have to buy any extra accessories like a dock or extra cables to watch it at home. Just hook it to the 360 and play.

Plus, once you learn how to use the device + I find using something like mp3tag, I really like this player better. Plus the larger screen makes up for a lot of the things that people hate on the Zune. My only complaint right now has to be the battery life, I wish it was as much as the Classic.......but what are you going to do.


Plus, I used the ear buds a bit more today and damn are those things excellent and the sound that comes out of those is quality.

2 Q's:

1) Is mp3tag free? and 2) Will it work with Zune 1? I'm assuming you have to name what you want to name prior to sending it over to your Zune.
