Re: U.S. Dead Last in Healthcare ranking
But your already doing it with our huge government in place now. And there would be no one new doing those drugs, the same stupid people, only then we won't waste money putting nonviolent criminals behind bars. As long as they're aren't hurting the public, then why should we care enough to use our money to put them behind bars.Comment

I'll keep this short and sweet, because politics aren't even allowed to be discussed here in the first place....
After his pathetic display in previous "documentaries", no one should ever take anything Michael Moore says with any mor than a grain of salt.

Instead of pushing his anti-American garbage, he has the freedom to leave this country and be happier in another location. That is, if he actually believes what he's saying in these "documentaries" is true.Comment

Re: U.S. Dead Last in Healthcare ranking
Because their governments are sensible about this issue and not completely hog-tied by their allegiances to the pharmaceutical giants... and therefore allow reasonably-priced alternatives to be provided...
OR they provide them at no cost to the least-fortunate among them, as any industrialized nation should do.
Gojackets... Yet the rest of the industrialized world (and many 2nd and 3rd world nations with far less resources) somehow finds a way to provide those medicines (or reasonable alternatives that have the same effects) to their citizenry...
Maybe the research can be supported and subsidized by the government, but performed outside the influence of the very pharma-giants who have a vested interest in selling said product? Just a thought... Then maybe we wouldn't get so many rushed, unnecessary medications that have horrible side-effects and get pulled from the market -- the only reason they get rushed early is because there is money to be made and their clock is ticking. Phen-Phen and the rest of those disasters never would've happened if there was more oversight and the profit-making wasn't the primary concern when developing new medications and treatment options. Do you really think that so many kids need to be medicated in the first place, or is the constant need for "new and better" medications little more than a profit-motivated goose chase led by the companies that profit from it?
Thank you for making sense. I just don't get how people don't want to help other people when those people are usually from the "Right" , which has become extremely religious. And I want to help others and I'm not religious at all.Comment

Re: U.S. Dead Last in Healthcare ranking
It ends up hurting the public when they remain worthless members of society that we have to pay to support. They'll probably commit a crime later to get their fix. It's cheaper to throw offenders in jail and hope that jail discourages others. Not to mention all the violence that is the result of the drug trade. But your already doing it with our huge government in place now. Which legalization would help to curtail. We've put hundreds of millions into the Drug War and it hasn't helped at all.It ends up hurting the public when they remain worthless members of society that we have to pay to support. Re: U.S. Dead Last in Healthcare ranking
Defending the drug war is just beyond me... it's the single biggest waste of resources over the last 50 years bar none. You defending the drug war and using such language as "worthless" when describing other human beings tells me all that I need to know about you. It's not even worth discussing this with someone who shares none of the basic concepts about human dignity and equality. Just... wow...
Too bad people can't just learn compassion because you'd need an 8-week intensive course, my friend.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

Re: U.S. Dead Last in Healthcare ranking
I'm sure you've read about Prohibition, this drug "war" has caused the exact same violence and despair that outlawing alcohol did. Violence is in the drug trade because it is illegal, just like with the mob and alcohol. How many people do you see joining gangs to get alcohol or selling moonshine in an alley? If drugs were made legal that would free up millions of dollars to spend on worthwhile projects and free up jail space for the real criminals. It ends up hurting the public when they remain worthless members of society that we have to pay to support. If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Ummm, do you realize how many deaths are caused by drunk drivers. Do you know the astronomical costs associated with alcohol related illnesses and dependencies. Saying having alcohol legal is freeing up alot of money to use elsewhere is misleading.
I could care less if a relative few people get shot in a back alley feuding over an illegal substance.Last edited by fistofrage; 01-09-2008, 06:49 PM.Chalepa Ta Kala.....Comment
