Re: **Official Blu-Ray & HD-DVD Thread Part II**

The Fast and the Furious trilogy is coming out March 24th:

The Fast and the Furious Blu-ray Trilogy Announced
    January 26, 2009

Three more former HD DVD high-def exclusives will make their way onto Blu-ray Disc in March when Universal releases The Fast and the Furious Trilogy.

The March 24 release date is less than two weeks before Universal releases the fourth film in the series, Fast & Furious, in theaters. That film will likely find its way to Blu-ray in early fall.

Universal is hoping you'll see the fourth film theatrically and is dangling $7.50 worth of Movie Cash to see Fast & Furious in this set.

None of the first three Fast and the Furious films will be available on Blu-ray Disc outside of the box set. It is an all or nothing deal so if you want the first film then you have to shell out for the inferior sequels as well.

Each film will be presented in widescreen 1080p video and an upgraded 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio mix not found on the HD DVD versions. In addition, D-BOX Motion Code will be included on each film, another Blu-ray advantage over HD DVD.

Also exclusive to Blu-ray is a digital copy of each film housed on a separate disc. Instead of a three-disc set, the digital copies push it to six discs.

The bonus features are extensive, take advantage of BD-Live and appear to include everything found on the HD DVD versions.

The Fast and the Furious Trilogy on Blu-ray carries a steep retail price of $99.98 which is identical to how they priced The Bourne Trilogy set. I hope to add cover art and Amazon pre-order information as soon as its available.

I'll get these if I can find a buyer for the DVD's I already own. Can't wait for Fast & Furious in June.

Yeah, I'm just not much for ordering online. I'll do when I have to though.

I'd rather order online, especially since Circuit City is closing.

Actually Blzer, the new film is coming on April 7. They moved up the date which is awesome. Went to go see Underworld this weekend and they showed a new trailer for the film and it said 4/7/09.

          That's awesome!

So I just returned from Best Buy, purchasing The Bourne Trilogy. I was actually hoping to just price match Target's $64.99 price, but it turns out that BB has the exact same price (at least for the week, as its retail seems to be $89.99).

I won't be able to watch any until tomorrow, though. I have class all day today.

Haha I don't look at ads, I just look online. It didn't show it previously and it hadn't been advertised online (or so I haven't noticed). Anyway, at least you all know now.

Now I just need to find buyers for the DVD versions of all of these movies that I just bought!

For those that are still purple, Amazon has a great deal on HD-DVDs. $5.94 + free shipping on 130+ titles. I love blu ray, but $6 is pretty sweet. I've picked up 15 titles over the last 3 days.

Did pick up Coach Carter on blu ray. Gonna watch it Friday night.

Absolutely. I picked up Season 3 on blu ray without having seen a single episode. The first episode was rough only because I didn't know what was going on but the production value and PQ/AQ are amazing and will keep you coming back for more.

I watched all of Season 3 in 4 days and immediately ordered Season 4 on blu ray. Took me 3 days to finish S4. I wouldn't let the fact that you hadn't seen the other seasons deter you from jumping on board.
