The rumor going around is that it is for those that haven't used their reward zone membership in awhile. I haven't purchased anything at best buy in months.

That makes 18 blu rays today.

Interesting, I guess that's why I didn't get one of those.

For anyone interested, Amazon currently has the Goonies 25th Anniversary Edition on blu-ray for 6.00, down from the 49.99 price it apparently was at before. I dont know what type of following this movie has here but was one of my favorites growing up so grabbing it on blu-ray for 6.00 was a no brainer.

Yeah I read about that this morning, leave it to people over at SD to hoard the deals and ruin it for everyone else. The jokes on them though since some people have reported that any orders of more then 3 copies were being canceled completely so hopefully they had their orders canceled and wont be getting any of them.

Yeah, I clicked it this morning and Amazon didn't even let you backorder any. Lame. I'm not about the Goonies as some people, but its definitely worth 6 bucks.

Co-sign. Would have jumped on a copy at that price.

Can't complain though b/c I've picked up 30 blu rays for about $100 shipped on "Free Shipping Day".

Did anyone else get "The Town" on blu-ray?

I've watched it twice now since I bought it (once in the theatrical version and once the extended), and other than the strip club scene, I thought that the extended version was terrible and added so many unnecessary scenes. It made the movie drag on, while the regular version was just right.

I'm getting The Town for Christmas. I'm banking on the theatrical cut to be better (pacing was just right), and I'm hoping that Affleck's commentary on the extended cut explains why the stuff was cut, or why his original script was how it was in the first place.

One thing I can't get out of my head is Warner finally gets it right with an AVC codec as opposed to VC-1, but why in the blue hell did they put both cuts on one disc? I can't imagine what the average bit rate is, but it can't be going above 20 mbps very often, I'll assure you of that.

I hope the picture is still good.

Apparently Warner has never heard of seamless branching. From reviews around the net the video and audio could have been quite a bit better than it is.

I think the BR was rushed out just to cash in for some Oscar consideration. This will almost certainly be double dipped in 2011 (and done properly) so I would wait for that one if you're a stickler for AV quality.

Sweet deal, thanks for sharing, unfortunately they are out of stock at the moment so who knows how long the wait will be but the price makes it worth it in the end.

Alter Bridge's Live From Amsterdam concert is coming on Blu-ray January 11th. I watched a good 45 - 50 minutes of what they showed on Palladia, and I can't wait to pick up this one!
