I don't really have must-haves other than just playing dvds/blus. Wifi and apps would be a nice bonus since the apps on my TV don't run through my surround sound.

Re: **Official Blu-Ray & HD-DVD Thread Part II**
Nice. I saw something similar on Best Buy's website and its in stock in town so hopefully I can pick up something tonight.
My blu-ray player "works", but I have to warm it up with a dvd first for about 40 minutes. Its sad.

Re: **Official Blu-Ray & HD-DVD Thread Part II**
I picked up a 3D wifi LG player a month ago. UPS left it on the back porch steps. My dog thought it was a new chew toy. Everything EXCEPT the blu ray player (and remote) was trashed.
Luckily he got bored once he got to the actual electronics.Comment

Is there a way to make it wifi? I don't have an Ethernet connection downstairs.

Re: **Official Blu-Ray & HD-DVD Thread Part II**
Unless you plan on connecting more than the blu ray player (bridges connect anywhere from 2-4 devices) it would be more cost effective to spend about $15 more for a blu ray player with wifi.Comment

I guess I'll use the blu-ray player until I find another one. We'll see.

This is $20 more than the one I bought. It looks like its based on the same model. I could be wrong. I'll probably order this instead and return the other one to Best Buy before the 30 days is up.

which is still going to be cheaper than having to get a bridge (unless you are planning to add wifi to other devices)Comment

Re: **Official Blu-Ray & HD-DVD Thread Part II**
The difference is only $10, but I would only use the bridge for the player. Seems like a better idea to just get the higher player and return the other even with the cost of gas.

Probably the best move. Ethernet bridges are so hit-n-miss. A lot of times they have to be reset for seemingly no reason at all.Comment
