Thanks for the feedback. I don't go BR shopping much and I usually have a specific title in mind and don't browse too much.

I didn't get into the LOTR craze so let me ask.... Is the extended movies $30 better than the theatrical releases?

I bought the $12 trilogy set just to see Return of the King again...

Honestly, I've only ever watched the extended ones so I can't say. If you're not really concerned about it then I wouldn't worry about it. There's some extended sequences and some small added side-stories, but nothing that I would really try and sell people on.

I'd be much more interested in the extended edition if it had the theatrical release on there as well. I don't always want to sit down for such a long movie.

I think the extended editions are very worth it.

Amazon's lightning deals are a joke. I saw the BTTF trilogy on there and it's original price was $30, so you'd expect at least $5 off, right? Nope, it's $29.49. Same with The Incredible Hulk, original price of $11, lightning deal price is $10.

Picked up the Game of Thrones Season 1 Collector's Edition for $40 on Amazon. I've been waiting for any decent deal on this show for such a long time. Can't wait!

Nice pickup. I just finished watching Season 1 on blu ray. Took me about 3 episodes to get hooked. Wishing I had HBO as the blu ray release for Season 2 isn't until Feb 2013.

Got "Jaws" for an early Christmas present. Can't wait to watch it in HD when I get some free time. I've heard great things about the BR quality and the documentary.

You wont be disappointed, there are 2 documentaries and they are almost as good as the movie and just as rewatchable,

Anybody have any recommendations for a blu-ray player? It doesn't have to be anything fancy, but I doubt they make ones without apps these days. I'd like to stay around $75 (or cheaper).

                                what are your must haves?

                                3D?
                                wifi?
                                smart?

I've had no problems from blu ray players from Sony or LG. Haven't had a Panasonic or Toshiba.
