Re: **Official Blu-Ray & HD-DVD Thread Part II**
WOW!...Thanks Candyman
I guess I have to buy this now, and seriously anyone who has not seen 2001, I highly recommend it. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it truly is a visual masterpiece.Comment

Don't worry about it candyman. Those pics are pretty cool though. I've never seen the movie so I'll have to check it out sometime."You got it man. I don't watch hockey." SidVish"I thought LeBron James was just going to be another addition to help me score."

Re: **Official Blu-Ray & HD-DVD Thread Part II**
I seriously think 2001 has better visual effects than alot of modern films that use CGI. Since most everything was made from models and practical effects it really immerses you in the film and you dont experience the uncanny valley effect.
On top of that it was filmed in 1968!!!!!!Comment

No problem, glad I can help.
I still can't believe I overlooked that.....LOL! For a movie that was made in the 60's, it looks very nice.Comment

Same here, at my Walmart you cant take a movie through self checkout since they force you to pay in the electronics department but they scanned it and it worked perfectly. Nothing like getting it for 14.96, cheaper then the SD-DVD was selling for.Comment

My wife was saying that while they were putting together the Blu-Ray for Hitman, Fox had nothing but problems getting it all together. I guess all the work they put into it paid off. I might pick it up just for that reason.Through music, you can live forever...TEAMS: San Diego Chargers, San Diego Padres, Notre Dame Fighting IrishComment

Actually it looks horrible! I will be returning this tomorrow for sure! I'll just get the regular dvd version and up convert it in my HD-DVD player! The blu-ray is terrible. Only thing cool is the menu!

That is weird, because HighDef gave the PQ a 4/5 and usually they fairly on target with their reviews + people like the PQ on other boards.
Are you sure you weren't viewing the Digital Copy version?Last edited by CaptainZombie; 03-12-2008, 12:47 AM.Comment

Daytime scenes look High Definition, Night Time scenes are beyond grainy. Or any scene were the room is darker!Comment
