Alright, so for those who were interested, I took three quick shots last night (before a few of us watched TDK again haha), and here's my receiver, two speaker locations (front right and front rear, you'll see center as well), the size of my TV, and what kind of distance I have from my bed, etc. Plus you get to see some cool wall decor.

Mind anything that you consider a mess. I didn't try and clean up for you guys:

So as you can see... 23", nothing big, but it is a damn good 23" TV. I have it calibrated to the best of my ability (without going into the service menu) and with the best eyes and scientific whatevers about gamma rays and such and colorization being correct. Sharpness is down to zero, and again, it's a 23" 720p set. Now, from that viewing distance from my bed, even the first shots after the opening scene, when Ramirez walks into Woerz's office, it's an instant notification of edge-enhancement. I didn't need to go onto AVS for people to tell me that, and in fact, I didn't. Sure, I borrowed their screencaps because I don't have any, but beyond that I know what I'm seeing. So, it's not just for those people that have 60" screens (though when I get it for Christmas I'll be able to check it out on the 52" Panny plasma at home and let you know if it looks any better or worse to my eyes).

I want to post some shots of my movies in action, but my camera simply isn't up to snuff. When I choose Image Stabilization, it's just a pixelated mess. I'll see if I can borrow someone else's camera, and if in the shots I can still detect the EE and you guys can't, then this whole thing is just an unfortunate happening that only bothers me, because it's really there if you can notice it. I'll just say that you guys are lucky.

This isnt a knock at Blzer but I always feel sorry for videophiles who frequent avsforums and hdddigest and obsess over things like edge enhancement and black levels and all that other crap. I watched TDK last night and thought it looked flawless on my 46' Samsung. I think the reason for that is I dont know what the hell edge enhancement is and I dont want to know. Thats not to say I cant tell a bad bluray from a good one (I thought Gangs of New York looked horrible) but I just dont obsess about it.

I will still never forget the Blzer MLB2K6 vids, now those were priceless. They were vids of him swinging the bat and how 2K should have incorporated it in the game.

Be glad not to know what it is. Granted, I have disagreed with Blzer quite a bit about all this. I can see where if you have never seen EE or DNR, it won't bother you.

I think with TDK, it is being blown out of proportion and to post Xylon's screens trying to prove a point is what bothers me a little bit. It almost felt like he was trying to push some kind of message that didn't need to be pushed. Some of those scenes the more than average person is not going to sit there viewing the film and say, oooooohhhhhhhhh EDGE ENHANCEMENT. I want to know when EE and DNR became such a huge issue for you since I have never seen a single post in past from you about it? Not trying to start an argument over it either.

If it came down to EE vs. DNR for me, DNR is the worst. DNR gives flesh tones that wax looks which is unnatural.

Switched to 720p and I'm still not seeing it. I can see what it is in the pics from that link but I'm not seeing it in TDK. Scarecrow looks a bit funny after coming out of the van and the close up of the of the screen in the Bat...tank(?) in that second scene but those were the only oddities I saw.

So wait...mommy is buying you a 52" Plasma for Christmas!? You're 20, right? Past time to cut the umbilical cord?

He's talking about his parents 52'' TV. Not one they're buying for him.

I'm sorry, but his knack for perfectionism on 'TDK' only came up because Xylon posted screenshots of some EE appearing in the film. I bet if those screenshots were never posted that Blzer wouldn't of even noticed. On a 32' television noticing EE is rather hard vs. in larger screens where it becomes even more apparent.

But, what do some of us know. LOL!

Again, I never said it looked bad. Just something stands out to me that IMO should not be there, and I know what it could have been is all.

I watch movies for entertainment as well, but I think I noticed that my eyes just tend to catch things that they normally shouldn't (same with my ears as well... like I said, I hear many high-pitched sounds that my friends never seem to hear), and it just kind of annoys me.

Oh and EG loves my swing avatar! He has it saved on his computer!

I use OS STRICTLY for game previews, videos and sliders and try to ignore impressions and bugs and glitch threads. Once I started doing that I found I enjoy games alot more.
