You are really making buying a girl a drink TOO a big deal. Now if you are throwing ridiculous amounts of money at them in the the form of multiple drinks, appetizer or meal at the bar, cigarette money, or a $5 bill here and there for the video poker machine, then you are compromising yourself, but not necessarily eliminating yourself from scoring.

I think the disconnect is the fact that DC is relating this to a total stranger. I've bought females drinks who were associates of mine, that's a totally different argument. DC is trying to establish the fact that buying a female a drink, after a 30 second interaction is incredibly stupid. (I agree with him, it conveys the image that dudes wanna get them wasted)

What would most of the guys at OS do in this situation?

Typically, I laugh it of and say something like, "not until I get to know an interesting fact about yourself."

I agree with you on the drink thing...I'm not going to drop 10 bucks on some random chick who's just looking for free drinks. I just don't like that way of picking people up, but then again I don't pick people up at bars or clubs...I meet people through friends or groups I do things with (sports, etc) and that can work out pretty well. I actually get to know a person rather than just looking for a booty call.

Any girl that YOU buy a drink for in the club off of X amount of time conversing (which still makes her a stranger) will not respect you. She views you as a TRICK. You might can SMASH yea. But how valuable is that honestly? Some dudes sell their morals/integrity for a piece of p*ssy. Happens WAY too often.

Morals? Like I said before I dont do it but I see nothing wrong w/ offering to buy a girl a drink if I meet her at the club and we have a good conversation going. There is nothing wrong with saying "I'm going to get a drink, you want one?" So I guess paying for dinner on a first date is tricking off too?

I just saw your age and understand your perspective. I was like that when I was 24 but you grow out of that ****. I'm 30 and have a decent job, so what's 10 dollars in the grand scheme of things. If she gives me the number, cool. If not, whatever.

I just think there's a little communication breach happening here.

I don't think it's rude to NOT buy a girl a drink. I especially don't think it's rude to NOT buy a girl a drink if she asks. Like DC said, it's your money.


But if I was out with a girl that I knew fairly well... some girl I asked out myself... I'd probably buy her a couple drinks. It's not likely that I'm going to buy drinks for a girl that I met AT THE PLACE, though... just because I'm not going to make myself look creepy or desperate. I don't want to meet the type of girls that haven't bought a drink for themselves, anyway.

1. I don't drink and I honestly don't believe I ever will. So with THAT being said I definitely wouldn't buy a female a drink ever.

2. It's not about HOW MUCH it is. I never once mentioned that $10 is that much in the grand scheme of things. It is the principal behind me spending my $ on an unproven talent. A woman has to PROVE to me that she is worth my time, money and there is no way she can accomplish that within a night's worth of conversation (the money part)

I don't spend $ on females until I determine they are worth it like I said. First date I try to limit to under $20 (free most of the time) Since the first encounter we are trying to get to know each other.

The same thing happened to my boy at the club. Since hes 21, this 18 year old chick really pretty came up to him and asked him to buy her a drink, however she gave him the money though

I've never been to a club (not interested), but I doubt I'd have ever bought a girl a drink if I did. Just not my thing. I've bought rounds at bars before, but I wouldn't just buy a drink for some random person I don't really know.

Buying dinner is desperate? Are you this shallow for real? 20 bucks? Hell I can barely by myself lunch for 20 bucks.

I just had a vision of DC on date with a girl and it's straight out of the Movie Half Baked where Dave Chappelle has like 6 bucks to take the girl out on their first date.
