ok *******. Saddiq took it even FURTHER back to like the 50s 60s than what his normal "throwback" sound is. Excellent.

I don't know if it's been mentioned in here or not. Saw the video of Tank's cover of "I Can't Make You Love Me" the other day on VH1-Soul. Outstanding cover. I'm going to have give the rest of his album a look now. I haven't really heard much of his work since "Please Don't Go" and the remix of it with Ginuwine and Tyrese.

You won't be disappointed. Tank is the best cd I've purchased this ear. It gets the most play in my rotation.

Should I just go backwards from Stone Rollin as far as his discography goes?

The Way I See It was the first album he made with that soul sound we all like. So if you have that and Stone Rollin', you're good. Did you like those tracks?

Sometimes is def my ish too, Scooby. I have no idea how I missed that album in 2008.

I've been bumping that and Stone Rollin non-stop and I'm sure I will all through the summer. Such great music.

I'm pissed that he's not playing in NYC this summer though lol.

Wow this thread is awesome. I'd never really listened to Tank or Raph Saadiq and both are awesome! I hadn't really bought an R n B album since New Edition and have kinda been out of the loop but i'll be checking back in here regularly for some new stuff.

                        Thanks fella's.

Co-sign on that new Saadiq album. "Just Don't" and "Good Man" are my faves right now. Good old school sound on the whole project though imo. Hate to sound like the old dude in here, but its a nice change to hear some real instrumentation and songwriting go into a project when some, not all, but some artists now a days are more than happy to take the cookie cutter, status quo sound and redo what the last person already did. Saadiq delivers the goods on this one once again.

I'm trying to get a hold of some of his (their?) albums. Not an easy task for some reason lol.

I've been stuck on this album for the past couple months. I'm a big fan of Dream and this guy reminds me of him quite a bit. I can relate to the concept of the album in a lot of ways.
