This has gotta be one of my favorite beats since Don't Like

    NSFW

    <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/lciXuSazbMI" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Between this, Ghostface Killers and Nightmare off of Without Warning, I need more Halloween/horror inspired trap beats.

    Oh man, Joey rips this:

I think I’m finally starting to become that old head that isn’t as receptive to this new wave even though I’ll still listen to Migos lol

Prefer the drug dealer rap as opposed to this wave of drug user rap lol

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread

I can definitely see that. I like both and love to see the genre exploding in so many directions like it is, but it's getting more and more apparent that we as a culture need to have the subgenre talk. We're going to get to a point where Kendrick, Jay-Z, Drake, and Lil Uzi are the nominees for Best Hip-Hop album at the Grammys and they all make different kinds of music.

The wild thing to me is just the diversity of it all. We really are the new rock. As a fan of production, it's a good time. The fact that Joey is even younger than me proves the viability and timelessness of that early 90's hip-hop sound. A lot of these dudes are making microwave music that won't be remembered a few years from now. It's fun to listen to in the meantime. There's just so much to sort through.

Hopefully they go out in a blaze of glory or disappear while on top instead of having to take a slow fall down into making trash albums like Eminem.

I think we’re already there. I’m sure when the nominees are announced tonight that Jay-Z’s “4:44” will be nominated. Maybe Migos’ “Culture”. Kendrick’s “DAMN” etc.

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread

I googled it, looks like the nominees came out in November. It's:

            DAMN, Kendrick
            4:44, Jay-Z
            Culture, Migos
            Laila's Wisdom, Rapsody
            Flower Boy, Tyler the Creator

Not a bad list. I hope Jay wins but won't be upset if Kendrick wins. Rapsody winning would be awesome, her album was great, and the Black Thought feature was fantastic. If Migos won I would probably just laugh. They aren't an album group to me, I like individual songs of theirs, but I'm not putting on a Migos album front to back very often.

I just don't want Cardi B to win any lol, and I don't hate her. I just can't believe that song charted the way it did and the youtube video has more views than No Flockin.

That is a good list. Haven’t listened to Flower Boy in its entirety but I want to. Laila’s Wisdom took me to a place. Loved that album so much that i went to Apple Music and downloaded everything of Rapsody’s that I could find. Lol I think it really comes down to Jay and K-Dot if you’re judging for lyrical content. Migos has a shot though due to the climate of hip hop right now.

A @blackthought EP produced by @9thwonder is on the way!
And it's the first of a series called Streaming Thoughts (or Stream of Thought) possibly with other producers.
