    Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread

Lol so saying his projects were meh is saying they were trash? Yes they were some good songs but they all are forgettable. Not to mention the production on all those tapes were boring.

Pusha taking a L so far in a battle means Drake is B rabbit now? Lol ok...

But let’s not ignore Pusha recently going on a few interviews bragging about being the only rapper to sell coke as much as he did other than Eazy E.. That Escobar line played right into it.

Pusha have never been clever lyrically especially in his solo projects...Unless he exposed drake with some industry secrets which i really don’t even think will really matter at this point. Joe Bodied Drake multiple times and no one cared lol.

BTW this is coming from a die hard fan who waited 3 years for another just ok album with only 7 songs (thanks KanYe) who also recently finds out that this project was suppose to be King Push and had production from various different producers including Neptunes but only got feed another tape with boring production (Thanks KanYe). Then Drake comes out with a decent diss with a hard hitting break beat...

The funny thing about this is that nothing new was said from either of them. It’s the shock that somebody is coming at Drake that got people hyped up about this dry beef.

And neither of their status is likely to affected by this at all.

This whole thing is one big [emoji42][emoji42][emoji42]. But the Drake Stan’s out there gonna hype this up like he just ended Push career.

Oh well, at least he dissed Kanye of all people. That’ll get people amped up to hear his response.[emoji849]

That's the other thing for me, he saved his best bars to be shocked that Ye doesn't write his own lyrics...like duh. This is known information. Kanye's just an easy target I guess lol.

That’s kind of the point though. The entire track was a big “So what”...

Pusha goes on interviews saying that he doesn’t respect drake because he doesn’t write his own raps yet runs behind someone else who made a career out of it...It’s not a Ether but a who cares lol.

But Kanye is not considered by anyone to be a lyricist, no one looks at him like Snoop, he's Dre. If Drake wants to be in that conversation, that's fine. But we're assuming he wants to be considered a lyricist.

'Ye is a legend, but he's never screamed that he's the greatest or a lyricist. He's had help writing rhymes from jump, while Drake is claiming Quentin "helped" him here and there.

As if we don't see 1,000 names in the credits/liner notes of his songs.

Push never had any real issue with Drake, it was Weezy/Baby that he had issues with but Drake jumped in to "protect" his boss. Not sure why Push should stop throwing subliminal now, if dude threw himself into the "beef."

And still considers himself a true MC/lyricist, so please carry on....

Note: I'm for lyrical beef that has substance, so far they've thrown jabs but no haymakers. Better than all the internet beef these dudes get in.

Really ? Ye got everyone calling him a genius (say something long enough that people will start believing it) he not only have ghost writers but ghost producers lol

The Pusha/CMB beef goes back as long ago when Gillie was having beef with them lol. Drake is suppose to ride for his crew but at the same time he’s also been progressing his career. No one said Pusha shouldn’t shoot back but at the same time he hasn’t been progressing his career and have been putting too much energy in the beef evident by all the subs he puts in all of his songs lately...All for 0 payoff and let a guy who pretty much released back 2 back pt 2. Lol no one is talking about Pusha’s album anymore...

The "Kanye is a musical genius" is almost a trope at this point. He is a legend, and practically a genius, but he's also had a lot of help along the way. The help has come a lot more as he's spread himself out with more and more side projects/interests. I'm not even his biggest fan, but can't deny his talent and ear for music (most of the time).

Not progressing his career? Three group records followed up with another major label deal, president of G.O.O.D. music and 3 solo LP's.

That seems like progress to me, plus all his business moves and his deal with Adidas.

Now, he'll never be on Drake's level but he's carved out a niché for himself after 17+ years in the game.

The drug talk can get played, but damn near every MC ever recycles subject matter.

I’m talking his career Musically. I can care less about business ventures that resulted in lack of music since leaving Clipse...He put out 3 forgettable albums. One which was a prelude to an album that never came out 3 years later...Instead with got another forgettable album sponsored by the genius of KanYe West.

I personally want the drug talk. Just better quality that we had with Clipse and ReUp Gang.

Isn't nearly all music disposable in this streaming era? Hardly anything can hold one's attention beyond a few weeks, months with the endless barrage of new music.

He has 3 official releases, but I do agree about the "prelude" that led to nothing.

Maybe it's different for me since I got into Push/the Clipse way, way late (during 'Til the Casket Drops), so I don't judge newer work to his older stuff (with Malice).

Beyond the beefing with Drake, I wonder if people have these same issues with Big Boi?
