This album is probably my favorite of his albums, and has the highest highs of any of them. I do like The Cut Off and ATM on the first half, but the whole second half he's in the pocket I wanna hear him in. My favorite project of his is still Friday Night Lights, Before I'm Gone is forever my ****. What I do like about this is it's very concise.

The release timing thing was kind of a joke, it's probably genius timing. Just very much a buzz kill on such a joyous holiday. My favorite song is FRIENDS by far, and I definitely could've waited until next week to hear it lol.

I'm starting to realize how much music tastes has to do with associating certain periods of your life and being 31 now, I definitely don't seek out the kinds of songs I was listening to in the 00s. When I've tried, I just haven't been able to get into anything probably since 2012-14. I'm just not down with the "mumble rap" and am meh on Drake.

With that said, I think I'd rank it:

        - 00s
        - 90s
        - 10s

I'm sure my ranking is reflective of my age and my adolescence/early 20s being in the late 90s-mid 00s, but I'm curious on how others would rank them. I love the best of the 90s and would maybe even rank the best (Pac, Biggie, Nas, Jay-Z) over the best of the 00s, but I have a wider-range of 00s songs on my playlists than 90s.
        Spoiler

        Two questions for the thread:

1.) Is there a difference to you between your favorite rapper and who is the best? Wayne is my favorite by far, but I think Biggie and Black Thought are who I consider the best.

2.) Do you separate music from the artist? This one is interesting to me, especially in the context of rap where a lot of guys come up from hard situations and have to fight their way out of them. It just made me wonder. I was thinking of asking this a few weeks back when I was reading an article about XXXtentacion and Kodak's legal issues, whether or not it's condoning their behavior by supporting their music, and then the Kanye stuff made me think about it again.

Meek Mill will be a free man in 1 hour ... out of prison after a long legal battle.

The justices released Meek with no bail, pending a hearing in about 60 days to possibly dismiss the conviction.

Another Meh Pusha solo project ontop of getting bodied...I’m long overdue for a Clipse or Re Up Gang reunion...

Unpopular opinion but I haven’t heard a good KanYe beat since the Rocafella days.

I can't understand a single word of this. Another meh solo project...getting bodied by who? The worst lines in the Drake diss were to Kanye and Quentin Miller lol. He's not lyrically capable of bodying Pusha, and I'm a huge Drake fan. The Canadian pop star who watched 2 seasons of Narcos can't make comments on drug trafficking, he just can't, we can't allow that.

His diss bars don't really hold up for me. It reminds me of the Meek thing, at the time everyone was freaking out over the "Is that a world tour or your girl's tour" and Meek came out a while after and was like "Half of my bitches they richer than me" cause that's not even an insult lol.

Breakfast Club yesterday Push said he wouldn't respond if Drake came at him but I really, really hope he does. Someone's gotta do it, one time for the culture.

I’m the biggest Pusha fan going back to early 2000’s Pusha is not lyrical either. I’ve been highly disappointed in his solo projects. The absence of Malice (No Malice) have been noticeable. He’s the lyricist and have been writing most of Clipse stuff.

He’s bodied because everything Drake said was a fact. Pusha really can’t say anything about Drake that hasn’t been said before...

Not to jump in on a convo that is already in progress, but I gotta disagree about Pusha's solo projects.

Haven't fully heard the new one, but his two mixtapes (Fear of God & Wraith of Cane) and two LP's prior (My Name is My Name & King Push: DBD Prelude) all have more gems than duds.

Also, clearly Push is exxagarating with the level of the drug game he was in. Or did people really take all the rhymes Lil Wayne, Juelz Santana, Future, T.I., Kool G Rap, Jay - Z, Notorious B.I.G., Scarface or any rapper that spits about drugs as gospel?

                            [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

And he can talk plenty of **** because we don't know what other dirt people have on Drake, Young Money, Lil Wayne, etc.

Every line he spit way back then on "Exodus" was truth and pretty sure he knows even more "industry secrets."

Anyway, I like both artist and it is nice to see lyrical beef actual matter. Nobody is talking about killing or any bull**** like that. Just bars and lyrics....

I guess Hip - Hop needs fact checkers now to make sure everything these people rhyme about is factual.....

Did 50 really kill all those people on his first LP, did Too $hort pimp all those broads on Cocktails and did Redman smoke all that weed on Muddy Waters?

I'll assemble the team to find out.....

Anyway, it's nice to see Stalley reemerge with dope music. Just caught his "Tell The Truth Shame The Devil" trilogy and the dude has still got bars.

The mainstream isn't his lane, but I think he can find a great niché like Budden and Royce did after losing major label deals.

Drake is B Rabbit now? The only stuff he said to Push is the same stuff he said on Two Birds One Stone, so if you can't repeat in beef the whole song is moot. It's a fact that Push isn't top 5 at GOOD Music? Drake talking about not holding people back given the OVO sweatshop jokes?

I actually think Drake is a fairly easy target but not in the sense that his status will be affected.
