I've been wondering the same thing. The only thing I've been listening to is Food & Liquor and The Cool, just waiting for Lupe's next album.

The hype and the anticipation for Lupe's 3rd album "Lasers" gets bigger and bigger every day.

Here's what we've heard about the album within' the last few months:

It all started at the end of March with Lupe saying that "LupE.N.D." and "The Great American Rap Album" wouldn't happen and instead he'd call his 3rd album "Lasers". At this point he stated that the album was already 60% done.

In the weeks after that we got some live snippets of 2 new songs (Shining Down & Army Girl - you know...the one where he sings "here comes my army girl", don't know if that's the official title though) and after that the LASERS Manifesto was put up on the FNF Army Site. B.o.B also put up 2 clips of him and Lupe on youtube and he said that they're working on a track together. Just a few days later Lupe decided to stream that track and the full version of Shining Down on uStream.

Shortly after that Lupe went to LA to work on tracks with The Neptunes, Krayzie Bone/Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, 1500 or Nothin' and Pooh Bear x King David. (the Bone Thugs track will most likely end up on their upcoming UNI 5 album)

Furthermore the following people (or people who know them) stated that they would or already have worked on upcoming projects with Lupe:

Le Messie (Submitted beats for Lasers and said that there could be a Lupe collabo on his upcoming EP), Matthew Santos (is featured on 2 tracks on Lasers), Soundtrakk (produced several tracks for Lasers), Ian Astbury (is working on a project influenced by Japanese street culture with Lupe), Soulja Boy (said that he's working with Lupe, probably producing), Charles Hamilton (said that he's involved in the Lasers project in one way or another), B.o.B (recorded one or more tracks with Lupe but it's not known if those will end up on Lasers), Bam, drummer from 1500 or Nothin (said that we can hear him on Lupe's upcoming album), The Knux (said that Curren$y & Lupe will be on a remix of their track "Fire")

In the earlier stages Lupe also said that there could be collaborations with Bun B and Kid Cudi on "Lasers". Shortly after that some rumors were circulating, saying that Kid Cudi and Lupe worked on several tracks together in New York....but we didn't hear anything else about it.

On June 16th an unfinished version of Shining Down leaked onto the internet. Lupe responded to the leak with a comment that he posted on this blog . He also stated that the album was 95% done at that point.

On June 19th Lupe's official website was updated and on June 20th Lupe performed Shining Down for the first time live at the Bun B and friends concert. However he didn't perform the full track (he left out the 2nd verse).

The full track was performed live for the first time at his concert @ the Chicago Theatre on June 26th. So far Lupe didn't perform the track together with Matthew Santos though.

As you (should) know by now, Shining Down will be officialy released through i-tunes and all other digital outlets on Tuesday, July 7th.

Earlier this week 2 snippets of 2 new tracks hit the net (2 Ways x Ladies and Gentlemen) and they are supposedly part of the album (Update: 2 Ways is the Bone Thugs-N-Harmony track and will most likely end up on their upcoming album). Besides that the site wearenotlosers.com which features a promo video for Lasers went online.

3 days ago we got the last update about the album so far... - @ Summerfest Lupe announced that "Lasers" was finally finished and that it will most likely drop by the end of this year (December)....

I appreciate the research. The only problem is that is an old article (7 months old), and the expected date of release passed 2 months ago. So basically we're still left wondering when this album is going to drop.

In doing my own research I found a blog where Lupe talks about Shining Down being leaked (he's pissed, lol). But the last part has me even more hyped.

what up ya'll...Lupe here...first lemme make a few things very clear.

1. I love the fansite alot i think its dope...i feel flattered that i have so many people interested and in support of my music and the messages that i try to stand for...and not just me but for Hey Champ and the crew and damn near anybody who even resembles me...you gives give them shine and i commend you for that.

2. I DONT LEAK MY OWN RECORDS!!! I'M NOT A FAN OF LEAKING RECORDS OR OF DOWNLOADING!!! My entire first album leaked and possibly cost me from going platinum my first time out as the final estimates of how many people actually downloaded that album illegally was well over half a million. So how do u think i feel that everytime i come to this site where my "fans" are i see you putting up links to download my records???...I dont care about the other sites. I care about where my real fans are supposed to be active. If you come across it and you like it and keep it to yourself thats all cool with me but to make it where as other people are able to download it in a public forum is honestly an insult to me. Especially because of how much i love you guys. that **** is kinda like a slap in the face.

3. FAKE SHORE DRIVES "UNRELEASED" RECORDS COME FROM MY OLD PRODUCERS WHO HAVE MY OLD HARD DRIVES. I DONT AGREE WITH THAT **** OR CO-SIGN IT AT ALL ITS THE REASON I STOPPED DOING MIXTAPES AND I TOLD ANDREW THIS WHEN WE MET IN CHICAGO AT THE COCA-COLA TOUR SHOW AND HE THOUGHT I WAS GONNA BE ALL PISSED BUT IT WAS ALL LOVE AND I TOLD HIM I KNOW WHERE HE'S GETTING THOSE RECORDS FROM AND HE AINT GOT WORRY ABOUT ME HE GOTTA WORRY ABOUT ATLANTIC OR ARISTA OR THE PUBLISHERS OF THOSE VERY "UNCLEARED AND UNCLEARABLE" SAMPLES.

Everytime i get the urge to do something new for my fans I go online and see "new unreleased lupe" from 6 years ago and i shrug and just say **** it. Things like that **** up the real plans and the mood. You dont just throw out bunch of records for the sake of having a bunch of records out. I dont operate like that as an artist. Some records aren't even meant to come out.

4. When we were talking about who should have first rights to new **** when we do officially "leak" something the only two sites that came up was LupEnd Blog and Nahright. Thats big whether you know that or not. You have a direct relationship with the artist you rock with who puts your name in the hat for everything that involves him online.

5. Someone hacked my email. I was about to fire my entire staff and cut off relationships over shining down leaking last night. Bun B hit me and was like "the records dope" and i was like "what record?" nobody even has it. the only possible explanation is my email chain with the mix studio (which is air tight...the studio that is) was hacked and thats where the record came from.

Lastly, the album is ****ing ridiculous. I dont like to brag or **** like that but the album is sooooo ****ing crazy at this point 95% done. and its all balls to the wall fire. I have the experience and the freedom now to make what i think will be the best received album of my career.

Lupe in the club??? Blasphemy!!!!

Oops, your right. Sorry about that. I was in a rush to do other things and just skimmed through that blog post without noticing the dates.

Nice find on what you got. Hopefully we get a solid release date soon. I'm looking forward to this, The R.E.D. Album and Relapse 2. I'm also holding out hope that Kanye does an album this year but I haven't heard anything so I doubt it.

A new Game track was just released a few days ago. It's called "Get Wild". Not sure if it's a R.E.D track though, not stated on the tracklist.

I would love to see a Kanye album like College Dropout. Work with the likes of Common, Talib, and Mos Def again.
