Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread
Anyone here actually listing to some real hip-hop? None of that mainstream bull**** (50 Cent, Lil Wayne, Plies, Flo Rida, etc etc).
I'm talking about Immortal Technique, Nas, Wu-Tang Clan, The Roots, Little Brother, A Tribe Called Quest, etc.
If so, has anyone heard Immortal Technique new album, The 3rd World? How is it?Comment

1. ATLiens
2. Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik
3. Speakerboxx/Love Below
4. Aquemini
5. Stankonia
I think you can't go wrong with any of those albums because ALL of them we're Classics. I'd like to see where people would rank them in the all time rap groups. I think you could make a case for them being Top 5 and MAYBE Top 3.
By the way, creating that list was just as tough because like I said, ALL of them we're THAT DAMN GOOD. If I could, I'd rank all of them 1 lol.
1. ATLiens
2. Aquemini
3. Stankonia
4. Southernplayalisticaddilacmuzik
5. Idlewild
The top four are classics and along with Goodie Mob's Cell Therapy are my favorites easily. I don't really count Speakerboxx/Love Below as an Outkast album as much as I do them being solo albums packaged together. I think Big Boi agrees. I loved both though.PS: You guys are great.

Real hip hop huh? Lol, I think you might be looking for the pretentious rap fan thread, I mean to say, the "fans of underground rap" thread. It should be on the first several pages of this forum.
While I have you here though, what can you offer me in the way of enlightenment as to why none of that "mainstream bull****" as you like to call it isn't real hip hop?
Edit: Nah never mind, I really don't even need/want to hear it on second thought.
As for Immortal Technique, couldn't say. I had my diet of politi-hop this year with Nas's album, which I enjoyed.Last edited by trobinson97; 08-19-2008, 05:09 AM.PS: You guys are great.

Thanks for reminding me about MM4 coming out the 27th, really pumped for that. Chamilli seems back on his ish with the freestyles that have come out already, can't wait to listen to it when it comes out.Comment

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread
I'll let you answer that on your own. Now if you wanna say Gucci is biting off Jeezy's style, then ok I ain't got no problem with that. Hell, I'll agree with you on that.

Bought the new ICE CUBE RAW FOOTAGE today.Pretty solid cd overall, better than anything he has done since Predator for sure. Some of the hooks are a bit repetitive, but other than that, good stuff.Comment

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread
I hope is does come out ON TIME. Been waiting almost 8 years for this. I just don't wan't to be disappointed again when October rolls around and find out that it's been pushed back another 12 months. But yea, if it comes out in November, than obviously I'll be one very happy man.#RespectTheCultureComment
