It's a good excuse for Krayzie to get on the mic tho', and that's good enough for me. L-Burna mighta' came the hardest on this one though.

From the handful of tracks I've already heard, yeah I'm not expecting much.
Darn shame.Comment

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread
I'm a bit ashamed to have ever gone through a "Jay Z is the best rapper ever" phase a few years back.
He's solidified himself as an average rapper in todays game. A shame because he's not even putting in the effort.Comment

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread
Production is good on the BP3. But honestly, it sounds like his last 4 albums save American Gangster. I mean exactly like them."Maybe I can't win. But to beat me, he's going to have to kill me. And to kill me, he's gonna have to have the heart to stand in front of me. And to do that, he's got to be willing to die himself. I don't know if he's ready to do that."Comment

He doesn't put the effort in because no matter what he does he's going to outsell any one in his genre.Comment

Anyway, I really wasn't pressed to get this anyway since most of the albums I wanted to come out, did and were pretty good. Only albums im waiting on right now is Thug Motivation 103, Big Boi's solo album, Attention: Deficit, and a new Outkast album.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread
'Bout damn time Only Built For Cuban Linx 2 came out. Anyway, only album I'm really checkin' for is the next Reflection Eternal joint coming out soon. Talib is one of the few, and I do mean few, mainstream MC's who hasn't lost the fire.
Jay has been weak since after the Black Album. Should've at least gone out at a high point, not coming out with wack **** like D.O.A. and whatever that other **** is with Rihanna and 'Ye. And, people really thought he was the "greatest rapper alive?"
Side-note: American Gangster was a rare chance for him to reconnect with his older style, thus the superior quality of that album/soundtrack.Last edited by J_Posse; 09-02-2009, 12:07 AM.San Antonio Spurs 5 - Time ('99, '03, '05, '07, '14) NBA Champions

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread
I'm really shocked not to see Nas on either of these huge releases. Imagine...
Empire State of Mind (feat. Nas, Alicia Keys)
and
Verbal Intercourse II (feat. Ghostface Killah, Nas)
That'd be sick. For the first one, I'm sure Nas would body Jay on a track like that having already made three New York State of Mind songs... the third one having A Keys sing the hook (Streets of NY).
As for the second, Wikipedia claims that Nas wanted to do a Verbal Intercourse sequel though I find it hard to believe that in the 10 years it took to make this album, they couldn't find time to hook up. Oh well.Comment
