This dude Joe Buttons put a post on Instagram about this stuff now. Is Drake not returning his calls? He's playing himself.

Reading Shea Serrano's The Rap Yearbook, I like it a lot. It's easy to read in that obviously it's broken down by year so that if you're not a dude to sit down and read for 8 hours, it's something you can just pick up and read a chapter. If you're familiar with his writing, it's just Shea. He doesn't try to come off as some all knowing critic or anything like that, he's a dude who likes rap and is kinda funny and wanted to write a book about it and did. It's kind of written like if the part of the Book of Basketball where Simmons deep dives into the pyramid (if every player was a year and a song), funny foot notes, tons of references to random stuff. It's an entertaining read IMO.

Isaiah Rashad's album is out, I don't know what streaming services or whatever it's on but do yourself a favor and check it out if you're into his style. It's great. It's called The Sun's Tirade.

Travis Scott put out Birds in the Trap Sing McNight, a really stupid ****ing title that I just don't get lol. But I like him a lot, he's taken over for me in the Cudi lane basically. He's always got good production, and the way he uses autotune in kind of like a robotic droll just kind of gets me in my zone.

Kendrick has features on both, on Goosebumps for Travis (he sounds kind of out of place here but I've only heard it once so I'll have to listen more) and on Wat's Wrong for Isaiah (kills it, Kendrick is the man, king of rap and he declares it once again on this song).

Young Thug put out an album, it was just alright to me. I'm a fan of his, I just like the crazy **** he does with his voice, he's unique. Pick Up the Phone is one of the best songs this year IMO, it's been out for a while though.

Vince Staples put out an EP, I haven't gotten a chance to listen to it. There's a ton of new stuff coming out suddenly it seems like.
