Re: Fringe anyone?
Fans couldn't change an execs mind and I can't see Acevedo being fired, posting it on facebook, and then accepting to take the job again. Maybe he was pranking fans.Last edited by CMH; 05-22-2009, 02:02 PM."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. Re: Fringe anyone?
Ok, so according to latina.com Kirk Acevedo wasnt actually fired but his contract was up and Fox didnt renew it so he was released and will no longer be working on the show. The executive producers comment that he would be appearing next season I guess has something to do with the fact that some episodes have already been shot. So, in the end while Kirk wasnt technically fired his contract wasnt renewed and the outcome will be the same regardless. Here is a link to where I read this at......

Re: Fringe anyone?
My guess is that Fringe didn't have the ratings Fox wants. It had good ratings, but not great ratings. Fringe also costs a lot of money per episode. A lot.
Kirk Acevedo probably sees himself as a top biller for television. He has the history to ask for that sort of pay. Fox probably didn't want to pay him as a lead man and the execs at Fringe probably told Fox that he wasn't a lead man. So, the next best thing happens: you kill off the guy or have him leave."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. Re: Fringe anyone?
Acevedo wasn't fired-that's a lock. Executive produced Jeff Pinker has already stated he "was not fired" and also added:
“Like all things on Fringe, there is more to this story than meets the eye." "We have already seen two of him on the show...We have already met the second Charlie. He had a scar on his face.”
My guess is the whole Facebook thing was a lame double Charlie angle, indicating that one of the Charlies might be eliminated or at best removed from the FBI.Comment

Re: Fringe anyone?
Wait...there was a second Charlie? I remember the scar, but I honestly overlooked that as a second Charlie. Re: Fringe anyone?
A bit more on that.
“…Executive Producer Jeff Pinkner telling them that Acevedo “was not fired.” Pinkner then added “like all things on Fringe, there is more to this story than meets the eye.” Pinkner went on to say that we’d even be seeing more of Acevedo’s Agent Francis in Season 2 - hinting at, perhaps, two Charlies. An our world Charlie and an alternate Charlie”
Pinkner also noted that we’ve already seen alternate Charlie on the show, allegedly sporting a scar."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: Fringe anyone?
This is like Fringe Lite. What's up with Francis!?
I, too, liked his character. At first I thought he was kind of funny looking but he seemed to get cooler and cooler every episode. By the end he was one of my favorite characters. Of course Peter is #1... he'll always be Charlie Conway to me.

Re: Fringe anyone?
I know its probably obvious to everyone but the episode where Olivia was having flashes of the otherside (presumably where she's at now with William Bell, but with this show who knows) is where we have seen the scarred CharlieHELLO BROOKYLN.

Yeah, and there was something else different in regards to a current case, but I can't remember what.Comment

Now I remember. Thanks for that. Re: Fringe anyone?
I'm telling you, Olivia is from that new reality. She won't be running into herself because she is herself from there and she hasn't seen herself in old reality because she's dead."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. Re: Fringe anyone?
Good guess, but if that's true her circumstances would be the same as Peter's, because he is from the parallel Earth, and his counterpart on our Earth died as a child.Comment
