Right before commercial breaks they have those x-rays of different things (ie: a leaf) and there's a yellow(?) dot on each.

Well, those are characters and every episode the characters spell out a word.

Last season the glyphs spelled out the below:

The switch didn't happen with the device. It made copies, it didn't make another body. Something else had to happen for there to be another Charlie. Without creating another body, someone had to come from the parallel universe. 1 + 1 doesn't equal 3 bodies unless something else happened.

Ah, I see what you mean.

There were three bodies and only two beings in that scene.

              1. The man from the alternate universe as Charlie.
              2. The real Charlie dead and hidden to the side.
              3. The body/shell of the man from the alternate universe.

That's confusing because that guy didn't just leave a shell when he changed into another person, he literally shifted into another person. So, how are there three bodies?

He did kill the nurse at some point, so he could have ran to that spot because that's where nurse's body was hidden thinking he could fake his own death by using dead nurse. Time remains a problem, which sucks given the exacting nature of the show's mysteries, where all the little minutia is supposed to matter, but I do believe that was just an honest oversight.

That would work, but there would have to be more shots fired. Charlie hit the nurse, so he now has been shot, not the nurses body. They obviously will examine the body. It looks like he was shot when he goes to the typewriter, so he was in the nurse when shot. So they then would have heard more shots after a few seconds at minimum.

Although I guess he could have shot the nurse beforehand.

I think they are serving up the observers as this season's red herring. Last season it was William Bell, but by the end of the season he was seemingly exonerated. So maybe we will come to find out more about the observers and why they are observing everything.

                          Also, some questions:

Why was/is The Observer watching Walter?

What are the "plans" Colonel Raymond Gordon mentions in his talk with Broyles?

Did Sam Weiss really do anything for Olivia, or did he coax her into "fixing" herself?

Why does Raymond Gordon use up his assets when the problem he is trying to solve seems to be on-going?

                            Re: Fringe anyone?

The Observer (Observers?) have been watching Walter for a while, remember the story about the observer pulling Walter from the ice after the car accident.

As for Sam, I got the feeling that he really didn't do anything other than distract her so she could regain use without trying so hard. But, then again, anybody could have done that for her and Nina, and what was his connection to Nina so he could "fix" her?

I still have the gut feeling that Gordon was wrong, that he stumbled upon something and wasn't rational about what he found, his actions with using his people to blow up just a couple of these couriers seems to fit the MO of an irrational guy. Aside from that, why would these observers be using such a mundane method of moving information? Somehow they can be pretty much anywhere at the right time, but they have to use couriers carrying briefcases of physical photographs to exchange information? Seems awfully odd, insecure and not very inconspicuous if this is a pre-invasionary scouting operation.

The Observers are very mundane. The Observer jots down notes on a notepad. It all seems very primitive considering today's modern technology but perhaps that is what they prefer. Maybe they can't risk moving information electronically or digitally because it creates opportunity for hackers to access that information. Sending a man with a briefcase amongst a crowd of other business people is a much more clandestine method.

Thanks goodness we don't have to see Dunham hobbling around anymore...it was getting old!

I love this show. Thank you hulu.com for having my two favorite shows for me the next day (Office/Fringe)
