      Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Saw the movie at 3 in the IMAX and absolutely loved it! I knew some of the parts that were coming (due to reading the comics) and I will still shocked by it. On a personal note, I use to live in Aurora, and was born at Fitzsimmons Army Medical Center, so hearing about the shooting is just surreal. I live in Tucson now, so I have lived in 5 cities that have had some form of terrorist attack (Aurora, Honolulu, Tucson, New York City, Washington DC). Prayers to all those affected by this tragedy

So expect something more in line with Batman Begins or Spider-Man 1 instead of TDK or Spider-Man 2?

The guy to my left was complaining with 30 mins left because he was ready to leave and the story was dragging. The guy on my right was sleep. Too funny. My high expectations for this movie left me slightly disappointed.

I feel as the end somewhat saved the movie at least for me.

Nothing blew me away in the previews (in fact most of it sucked imo), but I will be seeing The Expendables. Not a fan of Superman at all.

I'm in Washington and didn't get Hobbit or Expendables.

I think it's better than Spider-man 2. I'd rank it as the #3 superhero movie (TDk and Iron Man being top 2).

Just got back from making a day of it with my wife. Personally it was absolutely glorious film. I think it stands well with TDK, as i feel a lot of TDK's love had to do with Heaths interpretation of the Joker being so heads and shoulders above everything pushing it foward I think part of it for me liking TDKR a lot was

I did have reservations of Anne being Catwoman, but that opening scene with her sold it perfectly. Bane was the cold force of nature that i thought he was, except that damn voice they went with.

tl;dr I loved it and am going back to see it again on Tuesday my next day off, and the Blu-Ray is mine day one

IMO, this trilogy is tied with The Lord of the Rings trilogy for best series ever. All other series are at least a couple of notches below these two.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

Hans Zimmer was and is the MVP of the trilogy.

The movies wouldn't be anything without the score.

The Bane chant mixed into various points of the music throughout the movie....man....

                      I loved it.

                      Minor complaint:
During various points I couldn't understand Bane.

Other than that, the worst part was by the time I got there (GF got out of class late), the only seats were left the first two rows.

Will watch in IMAX soon and look forward to the Blu Ray.

I also had a problem understanding Bane, I thought it was the IMAX speakers, but it could have been the accent as well

My top trilogies are Hannibal Lecter (Silence, Hannibal, Red Dragon) and the Bourne Triology.

In it's totality I like the Godfather trio the best, but it's weakest link (Godfather 3), although good, isn't in the same class as the first two.
