Re: The Dark Knight Rises
Saw the movie at 3 in the IMAX and absolutely loved it! I knew some of the parts that were coming (due to reading the comics) and I will still shocked by it. On a personal note, I use to live in Aurora, and was born at Fitzsimmons Army Medical Center, so hearing about the shooting is just surreal. I live in Tucson now, so I have lived in 5 cities that have had some form of terrorist attack (Aurora, Honolulu, Tucson, New York City, Washington DC). Prayers to all those affected by this tragedyGo Knicks

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
The guy to my left was complaining with 30 mins left because he was ready to leave and the story was dragging. The guy on my right was sleep. Too funny. My high expectations for this movie left me slightly disappointed.
Spoiler
Cat woman and "The Bat" destroying the other batmobiles with ease at the end kind of bothered me. Like really?? she is on a motorcycle, turn your gun around and shoot. Then Tate gets out of the bat tank into the truck. I was lol'ing by this point. Im no Rocket biologist, but Imagine all that bumping and shooting around an unstable nuke should have been a bad idea no??
I feel as the end somewhat saved the movie at least for me.Psn: Plex-07Comment

Maybe it's a Washington thing, I got The Hobbit too. Also got Man of Steel, Neighborhood Watch, Jack Reacher, The Expendables 2, & The Bourne Legacy. Did not see Total Recall.
Nothing blew me away in the previews (in fact most of it sucked imo), but I will be seeing The Expendables. Not a fan of Superman at all.
I'm in Washington and didn't get Hobbit or Expendables.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
Just got back from making a day of it with my wife. Personally it was absolutely glorious film. I think it stands well with TDK, as i feel a lot of TDK's love had to do with Heaths interpretation of the Joker being so heads and shoulders above everything pushing it foward I think part of it for me liking TDKR a lot wasSpoilerBasically a version of the Knightfall story with some No Man's Land thrown in
Loved the little easter eggs/marks for real fans of Batman
SpoilerEspecially the one most of the theater i was in missed in reference to "A large Croc in the sewer". Pretty cool.
I did have reservations of Anne being Catwoman, but that opening scene with her sold it perfectly. Bane was the cold force of nature that i thought he was, except that damn voice they went with.
tl;dr I loved it and am going back to see it again on Tuesday my next day off, and the Blu-Ray is mine day oneHELLO BROOKYLN.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
SpoilerFor me, the best Batman stories are about the psychology and emotional state of Bruce Wayne. The heroic deeds of The Batman are a given, and in the Nolan universe especially, not that that multifaceted. Although Ledger's Joker performance is a Tour de Force of the Highest order, the character of the Joker only cares about The Batman. Bane and Talia Al Ghul attack Batman of course, but their attack on Bruce Wayne is a more interesting narrative to me.
IMO, this trilogy is tied with The Lord of the Rings trilogy for best series ever. All other series are at least a couple of notches below these two.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
Hans Zimmer was and is the MVP of the trilogy.
The movies wouldn't be anything without the score.
The Bane chant mixed into various points of the music throughout the movie....man....Comment

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
I loved it.
Minor complaint:
During various points I couldn't understand Bane.
Other than that, the worst part was by the time I got there (GF got out of class late), the only seats were left the first two rows.
Will watch in IMAX soon and look forward to the Blu Ray.Last edited by Stroehms; 07-20-2012, 05:53 PM.Comment

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
In it's totality I like the Godfather trio the best, but it's weakest link (Godfather 3), although good, isn't in the same class as the first two.Comment
